In our culture, there are particular norms and rules that we follow.

But when someone doesn't follow these norms, people aren't sure what to do. This is why people laugh when you made fun of them. The contradiction between accepted behaviors and asshole behaviors is unsettling to them. They don't quite know what to think about that situation. The handsome gentleman has approached me and is smiling at me, but he hurls insult at my face!

The contradiction intrigues people and so they yearn to find out more about you. They want to know, why can you get away with this stuff? Are you really that much of a badass that you can talk shit about anyone, and you have the brawn to back it up??

Because not every guy does have the right stuff to back up his asshole game, as xtakeout mentioned. Weaker men will get punched in the face.

asshole game works exactly like confidence. Except instead of actual confidence, asshole game simply appears to make you more confident by lowering the confidence of those around you, thus making you look confident in comparison. I never ran asshole game because I'd rather have the inner confidence instead of relying on taking those down around me.

Sadly, I live in a pretty small town, where everyone know each other. Being an asshole to several unknown persons can be fatal for making new good relation in the future. If I go to a party where I know no-one I will definitely try it out.

Some kid tried this at a party when I was in University and I broke his jaw.

I'm not generally a violent person, but when someones goal is to be disrespectful and to put down others to make themselves look and feel better, and when (and this is probably a key element) I'm intoxicated, I may not take too kindly to it.

I've been considering unsubscribing for awhile ever since it looked like the majority of good advice has come from AskSeddit anyway, but this clinches it. If I wanted to hear a bunch of keyboard jockeys talking about how they would bring harm to someone IRL, I'd go back to the 90s and hit up AOL chatrooms.

In general you just look like an asshole. I hear these stories all the time but yet to see women who actually like the fact that you act like an asshole to them. It might just be because you are obvious, but in truth the quality people are rolling their eyes at you thinking "what a douchebag desperate for attention". No matter how much you may try and act like you dont care, the fact that you are making fun of people is because you want attention. It's pathetic.

As a woman who occasionally allows herself to get picked up, I have to acknowledge that this can be a turnon. You need to have the right balance. Be too much of a jerk and I'm not interested. You need just a bit of edge, and you need to be able to pull it off with a smirk. If you seem like an overly serious asshole, no thanks. If you can give it but not take yourself too seriously, yeah you just might get into my panties.

Making fun of people isn't necessarily mean.

Good friends will rag on each other all the time, it's a sign of intimacy between men in particular. You basically just passed the awkward 'getting to know everyone' phase and jumped into 'close personal friend' territory.

I can see it working, though maybe straight-up being 100% asshole is not even the most effective. Maybe bringing it back a bit to being confident, fun, ironic, and poking fun would work even better. Your intensity is the key, but perhaps maybe not used the most effective way.

If you aim a high-powered fire hose at a fire 10 degrees to the right of the fire, you'll put out the fire since you're throwing SO MUCH water at it (this was your extreme confidence and energy), but perhaps if you adjusted a bit, you'd be even more effective and piss off fewer people.

Seriously, this is coming as a friend, you need to figure out what is going on that you bail on these opportunities and then rationalize it away by saying you weren't looking to get laid or have fun with her.
