I was a little nervous, because this was right in front of all the groomsmen and some randoms. If I get denied, I will not hear the end of it.

i have a different perspective on this stuff. i think the mere act of risking public rejection/failure is the impressive characteristic. imagine if one of the other guys tried that and she politely turned him down and he just smiled and said "hey... worth a shot" and totally shrugged it off and went back to having a great time. would you think less of him? cuz i certainly wouldn't. i'd think he was awesome.

This is key. You need to let women know you are interested, but you can't creep them out by making them think you will never leave them alone. It's a delicate balance between looking interested and not looking creepy, but doing something like dance with the flower girl perfectly accomplishes that (as long as she doesn't think you're a pedo-LOL). It was obviously an advantage for you that you were a groomsman (i.e., a position of power) so you had a reason to leave her and do other stuff, and that didn't make you look disinterested.
