Yeah it is so important. For me it was the other way around- when i was studying law i dressed extra smart that people even after a brief contact would comment i give off an aristocratic vibe. Still it did not fit me as im more of an artistic, energetic and a little bit of hipster guy who likes to be rough and bold.

Now i dress in thick jeans/lumberjack/ army shirts and get so much more attention.

Being in my 40's, I have to be careful that I dress realistically according to my age and not someone who is 20 years younger. In my case I go smart casual. I sought the advice of a stylist a few years ago and found that my choice of clothes were pretty much spot on in relation to my age and body shape etc. However despite this, and that I'm in good shape, I don't get women checking me out.

I have success with a mixed style. I have a couple visible tattoos but I dress very classic and my hairstyle is conservative. I've ranged the game from extraordinarily grungy to extreme conservative and the mix that matches my personality seems to bring me the most success. I truly believe because it matches my personality. I tend towards both ends of the spectrum. It goes to show that we should all be true to ourselves and be comfortable with who we are. Most of the tips on this sub boil down to one thing. Be yourself, be comfortable and at ease and be confident. I'm not an Adonis. I'm not rich. But I do know my self worth. Women sense that and I get approached more often than doing the approaching. Just be confident in your style and in yourself and you'll nail it. No pun intended.

The way you guys understand "value" on this sub-reddit is insanely stupid and naive. A lot of it is predicated on things that can change; yes, you can drop out of school, yes you can "not get a good job" and get stuck in retail. Do you think it's a good idea to base "how attractive you are" on achievements?

I dress similar to this (minus jeans being ripped and chain) and sometimes like this or this. I've never noticed any change in IOIs (which are rare anyway). It's more about facial aesthetics and height. The way you dress comes after those.

How you dress determines a lot. One night on a lark I decided to wear my motorcycle jacket (I don't have a bike), just something I owned for years and got as a gift. I had a girl ask me if I ride (obviously interested), I had to disappoint her though by being honest. I had others look me over, I guess the bad boy image really appeals to more than a few of them. Dress for the occasion, but most importantly dress WELL.

Dress in a way that you think looks awesome. You have people here asking "what's my style?" that are missing the point. Don't get caught up in giving a certain vibe.

Wear shit that you think looks cool regardless of what's fashionable. Develop your own sense of style. Women pick up every detail of how you dress and how you carry yourself. The ones that "get" your style will probably have that much better chemistry with you.
