The prevailing advice around here regarding marriage is "Don't."

But what about those of us who would like to get married, have children, a family, etc.?

How can someone living in a Western country not get hurt during a divorce? A prenup? Don't women seem to be offended by the idea—would even suggesting it ruin a relationship?

I guess you could say, "Well, there are plenty of options, and I don't need to get hitched with someone who wouldn't consent to a prenup..." But is that a realistic option?

Mainly, I'm asking if there are other ways for a man to protect himself against infidelity and unfair divorce settlements if he wants to get married.

P.S. We should talk about "taking" the pill rather than "swallowing."
