As I was walking around during the weekend I ran into a group of girls, one of them I really liked. Usually for me, things would stop here. I see a girl that I like and I do nothing about it and it makes me feel bad.

I am a shy person by nature, talking to people that I don't know makes me nervous which makes the conversation awkward which feeds into a endless loop.

But, I recently decided to change that so I bought a book about small talk and the book clearly suggested practicing conversations even small ones with cashiers or waiters. So I went to a cafe and got some tea except this time I said hi to the waiter and asked him about some work stuff. Then I left for my walk and, as I said, I saw these girls, except this time I walked up to them and tried to compliment the girl on her style but she was surprised, she smiled and said no.

Overall I am counting this as progress and I was wondering if you have any tips on cold approaching a group of girls on the street?
