29M. Tomorrow would have been our first anniversary. Yes, we (she) only made it 10 months before divorce was filed. 2 months separated yesterday and everyday is a battle right now. Long story short she was an unhappy person and blames me for all of it. I’m slowly learning that no matter how loving and supportive you are it might just not be enough.

I had already booked a room at a resort for us to celebrate. So instead of her accompanying me I brought my grandparents. The two people who have done more and loved me more than anyone ever could. They’ve put a roof over my head for the last two months, sat with me while I cried, assured me of who I am, and promised me better days are ahead. They have both been through divorce so understand what season I’m going through. It’s not the situation I wanted or deserved but this is life.

My job is giving me a paid mental health day tomorrow. Grateful. My family and friends love me. Grateful. I’m young enough to rebuild my life and take this as a learning lesson. Grateful. I’m saved and have surrendered myself to God. Grateful.

Tomorrow gramps and I are playing golf. Something we both love and share together. I know these moments with them won’t last forever so I take joy in what is left. The sun will rise and I’ll fight the good fight again. This is a minor setback for a major comeback. The opportunities are endless I just have to start believing that daily.
