I know the best chances of getting a good response are when you have a question or specific compliment about the person. But, right now I am in a stage where approaching someone and getting rejected is far better than not doing it at all, trying to kill approach anxiety. So what do I say when I have nothing to say but want to do it? I saw a post by someone saying they just start saying: "you are cute", the ones interested will want to chat more but otherwise might just say "thank you" and walkway. I been doing this for sometime. No positive responses and that's okay. But, I am a graduate student at a university so I might bump across them again. The idea of saying: "excuse me, whats up?" and start a conversation doesn't go well with me. That would make the girl wondering why did you stop her to just chat when you guys never met before. Don't advice me about how I should instead join clubs and stuff. Sometimes, I was thinking of going to nearby universities or going to a big city and trying this instead.
