I grew up in a small town (10k population) in the southern US. Catcalling was not a thing. I saw it in movies, but never in real life. I don't even really remember it in school. I've asked friends about it and literally nobody, including females I've asked, have ever told me they've been catcalled before. Is this a big-city thing?

I seldom see catcalling by anyone. But it does happen. I've been catcalled a few times by women. (The exact number would depend on exactly how you define "catcalling"). Each time it made me feel uncomfortable. One time downright humiliated. I don't think even the time I was humiliated would've justified confiscating her car. I could see maybe a ticket and a fine.
