When I met my ex so long ago I had no backbone at all. Looking back I brought so much more to the table it is ridiculous. I had a home, stable job, was mentally healthy (compared to her) and so on. She had debt, quit jobs, no home, and had major mood swings.

Yet I put her on a pedestal and had such low confidence I saw myself as nothing. Such a shame but I am learning the lesson all these years later. After losing so much like many of you have.

I gave her a home, family, sound finances, let her work less or not at all, put up with her mood swings and emotional abuse.

After being discarded, turned out she left me for another guy. She will be marrying him soon. I met him and he reminds me of who I was when I met her, but worse. I feel bad for the man. He'll be the bailout man for her next phase in life. Because she wore me out.

She's happy to have a new shiny thing in her life, and to feel "love," like she think she felt with me. But when the dopamine wears off things will go south. Hope my daughter will be ok through all of this.

It's crazy how she does not see the patterns. I suspect many of our exes never wanted to take accountability. Like mine. But guess what? If you don't then you repeat the same patterns. That's why I am working on myself, not dating and just having experiences with friends. Rebuilding a sense of self.

If you were a man with no backbone don't jump into a relationship right away like this guy. Don't fall for the "simp hunter" women! So many look for a bailout when in reality our own boats have so many holes in them ourselves.
