This post you shared is classic "One Good Man" Syndrome. If you haven't heard that term before, it's a way to describe how many young men unfortunately respond to all the pejoratives hurled at men nowadays in the media, entertainment, online spaces, education, government, etc, in an attempt to not internalize that messaging and to avoid become dangerously self-hating. They protect themselves against falling into despair and try to prevent suicidal ideation by imagining a world where they are the "one good guy" amidst a deluge of toxic Neanderthals. Of course, they only replace the problems of self-hatred with other equally bad mental health issues like anger, isolation, lack of male friends and positive male role models, etc. But when your mind is young and developing you don't have great skills for dealing with this kind of attack on your sense of self-worth and identity, so it's understandable and only growing more and more common.

As for why Reddit became this way? Well, just look at the politics and ideological beliefs of the most active mods and admins on this site. That is all you need to know. And it fully explains the horrible site-wide descent into extremism, through hating an entire group of people just because they committed the horrible sin of being born with "dangly bits".

and sure, he pre-emptively denied the "I'm not like other men" or the "I'm such a feminist" accusations. But he's the one accusing men to be shallow. He's the one viewing men with skepticism. By his own logic, he is not to be trusted either when he claims that he isn't a pickme.

I work in management for a large company, and I've been watching it slowly fall apart due to having entirely female or female-like leadership. Documentation is a thing of the past, and policy has been dictated by emotion or overreaction for quite some time now. There's no accountability, and heaven forbid if you're a guy given the wrong information by a female coworker. It will always be your fault.

These type of things are quite usual on Reddit. Most redditors seem to really be obsessed with identity politics and that manifests to men as a whole for them (kind of ironic because if you change men to "black men", you can see a day and night difference in many of theirs attitudes).

I don't really think it has any relation to people being on "SSRI's", since even in real life almost all women and the majority of men do seem to harbor some sort of resentment towards men as a whole.

I think it's probably biologically hard coded onto us to see men as dangerous and as threats, and there isn't much we can do about it.

We tend to only look at the worst types of men, especially those who are criminals, and we use that to justify the contempt towards men.

We rarely ever appreciate the men who do the toughest and most physical and cognitive labor intensive jobs on the planet that ensure we have a running civilization.

People also seem not to comprehend that it's a very low percentage of men who do all the crimes we think about, and for that the vast majority of us don't condone it it all and we can't even relate to it. Hating men as a whole will not stop the deranged from committing crimes, it's only going to further alienate the vast majority of men fo whom these things are completely alien.

One can be cautious around men they don't know for the sake of their safety, but use that to justify misandry on individuals out of context is just plain bigotry and irrationality.

On Reddit it's by design. A little while back they released a new set of rules that very explicitly allowed hatred towards men in particular. Reddit is essentially a hate mongering site by design. The nature of subreddits is that people can get some utility out of reddit outside of the overall culture of the site but most subreddits that don't align with the agenda get banned sooner or later.

In terms of the actual post you linked to; His feelings are based on trauma. He needs therapy. There's no deeper truths here. He isn't rational. He's full of hate because he hasn't dealt with his personal issues. Reddit is a site that promotes hate towards men so it is no wonder someone like this would post on Reddit.

In the 50's and 60's, "mothers little helper" was all the rage and many women were sleeping with prince valium in order to get through the day.

It's perhaps not surprising this has morphed into SSRI use instead: the root cause of women turning to "mothers little helper" were not addressed.

Advertisements for Valium and other benzodiazepines in the ’60s and ’70s were, by today’s standards, shockingly brazen in their depiction of stereotypical women who might be saved from their disappointing lives by popping pills.

How tragic that raising children was considered disappointing, especially when women wanted children, yet men having to work to obtain enough resources to support the family wasn't somehow disappointing or even actually dangerous and life threatening.

When were women given the idea they were entitled to everything handed to them on a plate, without any effort or disappointment? I don't recall men ever being given that option.

Is this at the root of current women's dissatisfaction: wanting it all to be just given to them with no concept of men's lives except some notion that the grass is greener on the other side?

Well, reddit is mostly liberal.. and liberal social networks have many things in common such as:

- They hate freedom of speech.

- They are "politically correct".

- They worship women.

- They hate men.

If a man wants to be "popular" on these social media platforms, he better worship women, and treat his fellow men like dirt.

I'm a millennial, and I'm lucky because I was able to enjoy internet forums when freedom of speech still existed. I miss Yahoo Answers so much. On Yahoo Answers, you didn’t get into ‘trouble’ for asking or answering politically incorrect things. Everything changed so much when Generation Z reached their teens or adult years; at that moment, freedom of speech ceased to exist on the internet.

Everyone is racist or sexist, even if they don't want to admit it. The only group of people that society has allowed to be socially toxic towards is men, specifically white males. So they pretend to not be sexist or racist to all other groups in fear of being socially cancelled, and as a result, all of their built up racist and sexist hatred is then flooded into the only outlet that is still socially acceptable, which is white males.

I'm 6'4 and I have short friends and I can tell night and day how women treat me well and treat my shorter friends like shit. And even when a lot of women are nicer to you, they will just call you a "dwarf" when you leave the room. Just look up any street interview about what women think of short men and you'll see how mean they are.

So, you have to understand something about guys like that OP.

This is essentially a Hail Mary. He understands that he has very little in terms of redeeming qualities. He probably has no real career prospects, isn't attractive, and doesn't have the social skills required to find a partner.

He therefore resorts to niceness towards women. You see, niceness is easy. It's the easiest thing in the world. "Oh, what a nice guy I am." "Oh, I care so much about women." "Oh, aren't those other guys just so terrible to you? (Please pick me instead.)" It's effortless.

The only thing is he isn't actually a nice person. His version of niceness is occasionally saying nice things, not selfless actions. He doesn't volunteer his time to help others (unless it's a woman he's interested in, and he only does so with the assumption that she'll reward his niceness with sex). He doesn't give to charity. He just rolls over and exposes his belly when women complain about men, saying, "Oh you're so valid yep yep yep by the way can you give me sex now?" What he doesn't yet realize is that no matter how hard he tries to be the nice guy, women will still find him repulsive.

Remember that incels don't just hate women. Incels absolutely despise men who are successful with women too. Elliot Rodger killed more men than women, and in his manifesto, he described in detail how much he hated other men. Incels are extremely anti-social in general, and incels like that OP just think that saying the "right" things will help them out.
