This is only good thing if they plan on putting 50% or more on the front line. Otherwise these women are taking the back room office jobs men could otherwise fill too :/

The question is, will they hold the female draftees to the same physical standards as the men? Only if they do is it true gender equality.

Calling it now, they're going to use them to "free up" men for combat positions. Despite the fact modern combat doesn't rely on strength to any large degree. Technology is the great equalizer.

Yeah they need to fill combat roles = percentage. If women are 51% then they get grunt jobs at 51%

Howsabout ending the draft?

Here's one of my core opinions: if your thing is truly worth defending, weather that be an idea or a plot of land or an institution, then people will cheerfully volunteer to defend it, as far as it is valuable to defend.

The corollary is that if nobody cheerfully voulenteers to defend your nation, then it isn't worth defending.

Listen, I believe society treats us men generally terribly, and most of the time I quietly agree here, but I do absolutely not think we should be drafting women. I believe a society that will send its daughters to die in war while their healthy sons stay home has lost its mind and moral compass. Men should be honored more and respected more, and society is greatly tipped towards women, but that shouldn’t extend to areas like this. This is our duty. It’s literally what we’re made for. It’s why we’re larger and stronger. It’s the responsibility men bear for the greater strength we have. We protect and provide.
