Anyone who measures the health and welbeing of men and boys, by the imact of their being alive on women and girls, is just a con artist.

They admitting that they have so little understanding of the lived experiences of men and boys, the only way they can relate to them, is through the experiences of women.

This is the "tell" that reveals the feminist basis of their beliefs. And as feminists, they can never understand or have empathy for men and boys. Feminism relies on the conceptualisation of men and boys as a class of oppressors.

For a — societally seen — smart man, he started with the dumbest shit. During most of history, the men with actual power and privilege came from wealthy families, which allowed them to get an education, which was not available to all men. Hence the common factor that is still true today is wealth, not fucking gender.

Also, most of the jobs that men did in history involved hard labour, I doubt even average men wouldn't want to go back in history for "the good ol'" times if it involved having to work an average job; factories or mining come to mind. They think that back in the day everyone "still" worked in cushy air conditioned offices 🤣

Basically everything was fine for men and boys (it wasn’t) and somehow we helped girls but boys got pushed aside. This is nothing to do with any group or policy at all so they shouldn’t listen to anyone who says otherwise (Andrew Tate for example). This is bad not because it affects boys in any way. It’s only bad if it affects girls.

Feminism and their patriarchy have done nothing but complaining about what they perceive 'men' to do, but that somehow is is 'enlightened' for some strange unexplained reason.

The thing that truly scares feminism is actual gender equality, the moment that men want some of the perks that women have enjoyed they're met with scorn and disgust from feminism. Feminism is nothing but 'reverse racism' and everyone knows that there is no such thing. Things are either racist or they're not, there is no such thing as 'reverse' or 'acceptable' racism, the same holds true for gender equality. Things are either equal or they aren't, yes there are some biological differences, but as feminist have shown, there are ways to make rules that can take away some of the disadvantages of these differences. All the male 'perks' have been equalized through regulation, it is high time for the female 'perks' to disappear in a similar fashion.

When we don't think about boys and and just assume they're going to be okay because they've been running the world and you know they've got all the advantages relative to the girls and all of which has historically been true in all kinds of ways. But precisely because of that, if you're not thinking about what's happening to boys and how are they being raised then that can actually hurt women.

And and I would argue that some of the broad political trends we've seen, not just in this country, but around the world, have to do with this sense of, you know, boys, men not feeling as if they are seen, feeling as if they count. And that then makes them more interested in appeals by folks who say, you know what, the the reason you don't feel respected is because women have been doing this or this group has been doing this or this that group's been doing this. And and that is not a that's not a healthy place to be.

and I will say as quote unquote progressives, Democrats, uh, progressive parents, enlightened ones, we've made that mistake sometimes in terms of our rhetoric where it's like we're constantly talking about, you know, uh, what's wrong with the boys instead of what's right with them.

We we in rightly have tried to invest in girls to make sure that that there's a level playing field and then that they're not barred from from opportunities, but we haven't been as willing, I think, to be intentional about investing in the boys and and that's been a mistake and and I I think people are starting to recognise that.

So going back to your optimism, I think there's a healthier conversation taking place now, both among this new generation of of young women and men, but also among the the public at large that's starting to see like, you know, we we we got to do better by our boys. And if we do better by our boys and we're producing uh stronger, more confident men, that's going to be good for our girls and our women as well.

In context, I don't think this is offensive. As a leftist man, I am not the target audience for Obama in this clip. He's taking aim at the exclusionary feminists that are part of the Progressive movement. He is pointing out how their exclusive focus on girls is counter-productive to those girls. I am really glad that he is advocating for men; and he is targeting his language to the audience he is trying to reach.
