In a generalized sense, I believe that all women, to some extent, hold feelings of disgust, contempt, fear, and anger toward men.

The overall media landscape for women is anti-male. There is little to no pushback against this rhetoric because they feel morally vindicated in their beliefs. Within this mindset, all men are guilty unless proven otherwise. And even then, men are seen as criminals in waiting.

Furthermore, some genetic traits themselves can be framed as evil. Is it any wonder why traits such as being short or having a small penis are used as “evidence” of someone’s maliciousness? These traits get portrayed as inherently criminal Only for people to turn around and say, “But not you guys… and if you’re offended, maybe you’re a criminal too.”

If this is the case, what is the point in ever striving to treat women “better” or to minimize misogyny, if all actions still result in being seen as guilty?

Of course, this is not meant to downplay the horrific things women go through; that doesn’t need repeating. But if the media landscape is anti-male, and if women themselves hold anti-male rhetoric, then why must I, as an individual who has no ill will, strive to “better myself” toward women? Why must I be better if i am seen just the same as the rest?

If you accept the framing, you’re performative. A criminal waiting to abuse.

If you’re offended, you’re acting like a criminal, so you might as well be one.

If you decline, you’re complicit and therefore a criminal.

After a while, it becomes a sort of self-flagellation.

(Of course, nuance. Not all women, not all men. Yes, I understand. But I am speaking in a broader more cultural and societal sense.)
