So if you want the answer to the question, people just disagree with most of what you wrote, while they have generally left wing identity. No contradiction. That's your answer. Why they disagree is long topic.

This is a loaded question.. after all what I deem to be positive masculinity will likely not coincide with what feminists would consider "Positive Masculinity"
On that note, I don't think I ever hear feminists discuss positive masculinity as they seem hell bent on shoving "Toxic Masculinity" down our throats.

Following on from that, what makes feminists qualified to decide what parts of masculinity are positive and which are toxic?
Given that the majority of feminists are women and NOT men I doubt they can accurately understand the lived experience of men..

This kind of ignorant parroting of narratives is exactly why feminism isn't just something people are willing to live and let live. Feminism isn't just focussing on only 50% of the world while claiming to represent equality, it's actively spreading misinformation —and with it a lack of basic human empathy— towards the other 50%.

I'm sure you've heard the common feminist refrain that "feminism is the radical notion that women are people." If that's what feminists really believe, then I'm a feminist. I'll even go beyond that. I'll say that women are not only human, but they should be treated EQUALLY. So what does that make me? A radical feminist perhaps. If that's what you believe as a feminist, then you have my full support.

But do feminists really believe that? Let's examine that. Here are a few things I believe as a feminist. Do you agree?

Women should get EQUAL pay for EQUAL work, when EXPERIENCE, TYPE OF JOB, and HOURS ACTUALLY WORKED, are taken into account. If all THREE of those things are not taken into account, then we're not talking about truly equal work, are we?

We should strive for equal representation of women in all fields, including doctors and lawyers and politicians... but also mining, construction, front line combat in the military, garbage collection, long haul truck driving, etc. With the obvious caveat that competence and experience should take precedence over artificial quotas.

My body my choice, whether it comes to reproductive rights, or being forced to use your body for labor to support decisions you didn't agree with.

Total equality in family and divorce court.

Crimes that destroy lives should be punished and perpetrators should be held accountable, and false accusations that send the innocent to prison should be just as vigorously prosecuted and punished to the same degree.

Innocent until proven guilty. Period. In courts of law and in the workplace. Note, this is completely gender neutral.

Given the same crime and same criminal record, a woman and a man should have the same chance of being arrested for it, if arrested they should have the same chance of being prosecuted, if prosecuted they should have the same chance of being convicted, if convicted they should have the same chance of going to prison, and if a prison sentence is called for then it should be of equal length. We should do what we can to create this kind of a criminal justice system, because right now, NONE of those things are true.

We should strive to reduce any gaps in health funding and life expectancy.

People deserve to be loved and cared for, completely unrelated to how much money they make.

It should be customary for men and women to split the bills on dates, and should feel empowered to make the first move in asking for dates.

The idea of "women and children first" infantilizes women. There's an argument to be made that we should strive to preserve children's lives because they have more to live for. But beyond that, all human lives have equal value.

I think it would be accurate to say that this sub identifies (correctly IMO) that feminism is not concerned with the well-being of men, it focuses specifically on women. That's fine, that's what it sets out to do, but here we want to talk about the challenges that this leaves us as men, without needing to accommodate feminism. I don't think there's any issue with that - it's not that we're hostile to women so much as tired of not advocating for our own needs.

Beyond that, many feminists simply don't practice what they preach and it needs to be called out. I often think that most of them would be right wing as fuck if feminism wasn't promoting things they want - I personally believe that left wing men are typically the most compassionate people on the left at all, because they're the ones advocating for everyone else instead of themselves. After watching my fellow 'left wingers' deride and speak with no compassion around men for so many years, I no longer really see them as left wing - their compassion isn't universal, it's selective. That makes them unprincipled and self interested. I have little patience with it.

Granted a lot of the people on reddit who talk without such compassion are just damaged and traumatised people who shouldn't really have a leading voice in this picture. They should be listened to and understood, but are too damaged to set direction - a lot of men are in this boat too, incels and so on. Understand and listen, but don't let them dictate the path. A lot of real world women I've met have been compassionate to men, and women, and have applied this universally - so it's clearly not a women problem. Just a subset of feminists - as you say. That said, there's a lot of them and their voice hurts the cause because it isn't challenged.

I like this sub because I can talk to other left wing people - compassionate albeit frustrated - about this hypocritical imbalance on the left with respect of compassion. I'm tired of not seeing it applied universally, I'm tired of putting up with it, and I'm tired of arguing about it with the damaged. So I come here to be with like minded people.

There is so much to dissect from you post and I don't have the time, energy, or willpower to do this. I will say this, I don't think you're here genuinely on good faith. You are already offended because this subreddit isn't another pro-feminist male advocacy like that neutered Men's Lib subreddit. Fist off, we strongly disagree with the "Toxic Masculinity" concept and we find the idea of the "Patriarchy" to be udder nonsense.

What we are here is a subreddit where people have more left wing political viewpoints outside of the Feminist framework in the social parts of the Left Wing. We are very much in favor of women's rights alongside men's rights without the title of being a Feminist because that movement, for its claim to also be for men, has done a lot to exclude and discriminate against men in its ranks and its platform. That is why we openly criticize the movement and its complicity with all the misandry that's been allowed to thrive and flourish inside the movement with no accountability at all other than No True Scotsman statements and to a lesser extent Motte and Bailey type arguments.

Now you are free to hangout here and take part in the discussion. You won't be banned here like how Feminist subs will ban anyone who participates in this subreddit or other Male Advocacy subreddits that aren't Men's Lib. However, if you continue to act in bad faith, you will likely get a bad rep around here and people will likely ignore you.

Take a look at what's happening in Ukraine right now. Young men are forced to risk their lives and not allowed to leave the country while women are helped to start a new life abroad. Do you really think that women are the victim here?

And that's the situation that's happening in all of the Europe. You won't find any law in EU that discriminates women but you will find a lot that discriminate men.
