Have you ever gone out to a bar or nightclub and made a conscious decision beforehand: tonight I’m not going to be nice. No compliments, no charm, no trying to impress. I’m going to be mean and see what happens.

I’m especially interested in this from guys who are usually on the “nice” side. If your default is being polite, friendly, or seductive in a smooth way, have you ever flipped the switch completely and tried the opposite mindset for a whole night?

The pickup world talks a lot about negging, but mostly as a tactic here and there. I’m not talking about one comment. I mean actually embodying it as your frame for the night. No validation, no approval, slightly dismissive or even rude by default.

If you’ve tried this, how did it play out compared to when you’re nice or complimentary? Did women react more strongly, get turned off, lean in, or just think you were an asshole? And if you stopped doing it, was it because it didn’t work, or because it felt forced or wrong?

Not trying to justify bad behavior. I’m trying to understand where the real line is between nice, neutral, teasing, and mean, and whether crossing it on purpose ever actually works outside of theory.
