Unless logistics is an issue, then you should try to close the deal on the first date. For example here is a guide.

If not, them flaking for second date is always a realistic possibility.

Having said that, dont arrange the second date that fast. Leave a day of gap and after some light texting ask her out again.

It depends on how the first date goes of course. Usually if we at least have a decent makeout we make soft plans at the end of the date. Then finalize plans over text a few days later.

But if the first date doesn't end in a kiss, I'm not even attempting to ask her on a second date.

I'm 50-50 on if I mention a 2nd date on the first date. If I don't, I send a text making sure she got home ok and start the convo about a 2nd date. Easiest way to get a second date is to make the first date great.

for one, make sure both you vibe well together. Two, talk about future plans during the date. And finally, third, schedule the 2nd date in person at the end or text each other about later.

one is the most important, if you guys don’t connect or have sexual chemistry, then there is no point in a 2nd date.

The main thing is to realize that a first date doesn't necessarily go well just because it was pleasant or you both had fun.

Ideally, there should at least be clear sexual tension there, like the girl always staying close to you, looking at you coyly, or finding excuses to touch you.

And these have to be relatively frequent, not just present. If something like that only happens once in the date then it doesn't mean much.

That is the bare minimum. If you have sex on the first date then even better.

And it does also help to set up the next date during the first one.

This doesn't just increase the odds of a next date but its also another way to gauge how the current date is going. The more willing she is to participate in the discussion and plan the next one, the better things are going.

And its a very natural conversation to have. It's a conversation most people have with their friends all the time.

It shouldn't come up like, "Hey, we should plan the next date."

It should be more like a place or activity naturally comes up in your conversation, you both show interest in it, and then agree to do that next time.

For example, last time we hung out, me and my friends happened to bring up cool stuff about Indonesia and now we have plans to go next month.

A date version of that is like when I found out on our first date that my girlfriend hasn't been to a particular restaurant that's one of the OGs in our city that has been around for ages.

And again, I didn't tell her to tell me stuff to get ideas for what we'll do next. We were just having a conversation about food and I used the restaurant as a reference because I assumed everyone has been there and then she told me she hasn't been there and that's what started the discussion to go there next time.

So understand that there should at least be good sexual tension on the first date and just make normal conversation about other things to do in your city to set up following dates.
