As you know, Patriarchy is set up to benefit men at the expense of women. Under this theory, Patriarchy has been a deliberate attempt at oppressing women for the entirety of human existence rather than the result of biological differences. Malicious intention is the key point here. If it was unintentional that would make mother nature the misogynist and that makes it difficult to blame all failures of women on men.

So we've established Patriarchy really sucks for women. Every now and then though, patriarchy "backfires" on men. But no one seems to ask why patriarchy is allowed to hurt men. Here we have a system that is so encompassing and powerful that it's been in place for centuries and yet it can't make a few simple changes to insure that men do not suffer any negative consequences. So I figured I'll take a crack at some of these issues and come up with solutions to prevent all this backfiring.

Backfire #1: Both historically and presently, we've sent men off to their death in order to protect society.

A lot of MRA's will theorize this is proof of the disposable male, that men's lives are seen as less valuable. While feminists will tell you that sending men to fight, while forbidding women, is proof we think men are strong and women are weak. We just don't think women can do the job. Let's take a few moments to assess the rationale behind such a decision.

If society is composed of strong and weak members, why would you send the strong members to their deaths? At the very least, you would think that we'd use the weaklings as the first line of defense. Let the enemy waste their resources and expend themselves against the weak women, so that the men can step in later and finish off the enemy. Even the pawns have their use in a game of chess, afterall. But yet, we don't employ this strategy. We let swarms of "strong" men die, so that the "weak" women can survive. Feminists will actually tell you women are the ones being oppressed in this situation. This is the equivalent of saying the king who sits on his throne is oppressed while his armies get slaughtered. So yeah, easy solution here: let more women die not because we think they're strong, but because we think they're inferior and deserve death. Even if the women do a good job, deny them any credit while calling men the heroes.

Backfire #2: Women get custody of children most of the time.

Even though we hate women and see them as weak, fragile, incompetent and overall inferior - we decided it would be a good idea to let them take care of our children. It makes sense when you don't think about it. I suppose the Patriarchy does throw women a bone and admit they do have some positive qualities such as being caring and nurturing. So just like that, we've now got our very own designated caretakers.

Uh oh, wait a second. Now the marriage is ending, who gets custody of the child? Doh. We overlooked that. Okay, be cool - we can figure this out. In order to come up with a solution, I just have to think like the Patriarchy. I know! The decision for who gets the child is made by the woman. Hold on, that's not right. The Patriarchy wouldn't let women call the shots. Hm, how about if we let the man make the decision? If the man wants the woman to be the caretaker, she is the caretaker. If the man wants to be the caretaker, he is the caretaker. The solution was so simple it's like it was right under our noses the entire time.

In the essence of time, I'll stop here but there's a lot more backfires we can revise here so that Patriarchy stops backfiring on us. Give it a try. Hopefully the Patriarchy will read this and make some of our suggestions a reality.
