You may be interested in a related development. Currently under phase 3 clinical trials in India, the development of a temporary vasectomy is underway.

It's not really a vasectomy - the vas deferens is filled with a polymer gel instead of cut. This way you can inject a solution to dissolve that polymer when you wish to have children. Although minor concerns exist, this should be much more successful than vasectomy reversal surgery.

You can read about it here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reversible_inhibition_of_sperm_under_guidance

It would be fantastic for many people. Even for those who would consider vasectomy, reversible permanence is more appealing than simple permanence.

I'm not a doctor, but wouldn't this cause an increase in testicular spermatoceles in a significant portion of men? Also I think that a pill for men would lead to lower Test, ushering in a new generation of fat betas. Could be wrong, but thats my take. I say just use condoms. And keep a bottle of Tabasco in the medicine cabinet.

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points9 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I am glad you are not a doctor because you are wrong and lack a basic understanding of anatomy.

Polymer styrene maleic anhydride blocks the vas deferens, the tube that goes from the Epididymis (where sperm is made). It does not shut down spermatogenesis and thus does not effect the production of testosterone.

It is the same principle as a vasectomy, without severing the vas deferens.

[–]Viktour 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It doesn't block the tube, it kills the sperm by electrostatic friction.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

it narrows the pathway. some sperm may get through and then yes, they die

To answer the OP's question, YES men should be able to opt out. It's called Legal Paternal Surrender. Here's an entire video series arguing for it.

Part 1

Part 2

Part 3

Part 4

Lastly, even some notable feminists agree:

"Justice therefore dictates that if a woman makes a unilateral decision to bring pregnancy to term, and the biological father does not, and cannot, share in this decision, he should not be liable for 21 years of support. Or, put another way, autonomous women making independent decisions about their lives should not expect men to finance their choice." -- Karen DeCrow, former NOW President ( National Organization for Women, U.S.A.)

[–]Zosimasie 56 points57 points58 points 12 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

She said that in 1982. I doubt any feminist in such a position would ever say such a thing today.

[–]Nutz76 73 points74 points75 points 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Just goes to show how far modern feminism has slid from being about equality to female supremacy.

[–]veggie_girl 15 points16 points17 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Ever since women's suffrage it has always been about supremacy. Feminists still have not made it mandatory for women to sign up for selective service, that tells you a lot right there.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

To be fair, I've seen some feminist argue for this. When I say argue for this, I mean nod slightly because they can't come up with even a semblance of argument against it.

[–]mDysaBRe 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

What goes to show that, a statement a person made without any evidence for it being true?

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

A lot of the first wavers got kicked to the curb. It's sad.

[–]rapey_raperson 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Feminism is 95 percent online noise; survey after survey shows that in real life, something like 20 percent of women even label themselves feminists, and of those, most are totally inactive. In other words, they just declare themselves feminists, they haven't a clue what actual issues and stands feminism currently endorses, aside from reading the Huffington Post.

[–]suRubix 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It feels like there are a lot of feminists on college campuses.

[–]Endorsed ContributorRedBigMan -5 points-4 points-3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's because they're all busy taking Wymyns Studies classes on the government dime.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

And they still manage to dictate legislation to their favour. So much for patriarchy keeping them down.

[–]10J18R1A 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Because a lot of men still subscribe to the idea that women need to be taken care of and coddled. Check out some white knights and male "feminists" and then understand why, in the so called "patriarchy", there's so much gender bias favoring women.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It saddens me that I feel this is true...

[–]garblegarble12 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

The fact that some 'notable' feminists agree is not an argument for this idea. THis would be great. But will never happen because it would be too costly to the state.

[–]imagineyouarebusy 8 points9 points10 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I don't care if they agree.

No one should be able to make me their wage-slave for 18 years.

It's a civil-rights issue, and feminists don't need to agree. The USSC needs to agree to take up a case.

[–]LasherDeviance 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

That's true. Welfare subsidies would increase and other than small business owners, the tax liability would fall even harder on single men.

[–]imagineyouarebusy 6 points7 points8 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Cost should have no bearing on the legal right of a woman to be able to arbitrarily enslave a man for eighteen years, nor for a man to be free from wage-enslavement.

For a considerable time, abortion was not sold as an act of convenience.

Now that it is, they can no longer argue: "if men play, they have to pay."

edit: Women argue that they should be allowed abortions for any reason. In my estimation, men should have the same right to decide whether or not to be a parent, and to have the responsibilities, financial or otherwise, at any time in the process.

It's a civil-rights issue for men.

[–]garblegarble12 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Interesting to think whether it could be managed some day. Would probably need to be packaged with some type of universal child allowance to prevent rorting. A lot of single people would get upset at supporting everyone else's kids.

YES men should be able to opt out.

Men already are able to opt out by not ejaculating into the mother.

[–]Endorsed ContributorRedBigMan 6 points7 points8 points 12 years ago (33 children) | Copy Link

Women are already able to opt out by not spreading their legs. Why does all the responsibility land on the man's shoulders. Oh right because women are always the victim.

[–]muuh-gnu 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (32 children) | Copy Link

Why does all the responsibility land on the man's shoulders.

It doesnt.

Both the man and the woman have to option to opt in or out before conception.

The fact that the resulting pregnancy can be ended by the person carrying the pregnancy in her body is irrelevant to the fact the before the pregnancy, both of them fully consented to a possible conception by having unprotected intercourse.

[–]10J18R1A 5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

And only the woman has the right to opt out after conception, and that's kind of the issue. Do you see how one chance to opt out is less than two?

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Both parties are responsible, yes, but you miss the point. It's only the man who is actually blamed and held accountable in most situations.

[–]Endorsed ContributorRedBigMan 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (20 children) | Copy Link

You are focusing so heavily on pre-conception. What we are talking about here is post-conception.

I completely agree that a woman should be capable of having all her options available to her post-conception. She could abort the fetus. She could carry to term and give it up for adoption. She could also carry to term and keep it herself.

What I support is giving a man an option post-conception. The man should be capable of abdicating responsibility for the pregnancy (Exception may be if they are actually married). This would mean he would not be in the child's life and/or not paying child support (financial slavery for 18+ years). With this knowledge the woman would still have her full array of options available to her. However, lets face reality, the man's option when used to not be a part of the pregnancy and resulting child's life only affects one outcome, if she carries the child to term and keeps it herself.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

/u/muuh-gnu comes across as either an MGTOW sorta guy, the type who'd rather avoid sex and associations with women, or a strict "man up and marry the slut!" Churchian. In this subreddit, we men talk about how women extract most of the benefits in our fucked up sexual marketplace without having to face negative consequences for their actions,. It's our time now! /u/muuh-gnu does not understand that what we men do here is to turn the tables, to get what we want in the SMP without giving up our resources or facing negative consequences for our actions, just like women do.

Brothers, for too long we've suffered the yoke of having to pay for expensive dinners and outings without receiving what we want from a woman (sexual access), while she bangs Badboy McAlpha on the side! For too long we've been exhorted to "MAN UP" and told that we're "lucky" to put a ring on used-up, post wall hags who will do anything (and I mean anything) to snag a beta provider. Wait, where was I going? Anyway /u/muuh-gnu is trying to use our arguments against us men, and while his?/her? logic seems good, he?/she? totally doesn't get /r/theredpill.

[–]Endorsed ContributorRedBigMan 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Agreed... I have my doubts about their gender since they're so focused on ejaculating into women being the only choice a man gets to make.

Personally I think they dont understand TRP entirely. If men are given this option then it encourages WOMEN to be more truthful and honest rather than deceptive and manipulative. Like the crazy bitch who stops taking her pills and gets preggo to hook a guy for a 18 year financial sentence.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Yeah. Part of taking the red pill is realizing that traditional ethical/moral concepts, like honor and justice, are human ideals that nature doesn't care about. And, our human society merely pays lip service to them now, and doesn't care about them either. It doesn't pay to be a noble, honorable, man of virtue anymore, and our society abuses men who are. I found I really had to divorce those ideals from my psyche. That's not to say I'm a shitty person, and I do try to do the right things in my day to day life, but society rewards those who don't act virtuously while throwing many truly good men in the trash. If I want to be a fulfilled and happy person in my life, it behooves me to not do what has always been expected of men in the past (like being honorable and working a hard job to provide for a family).

This was the really hard part about it to finally accept, and the real core of redpill thinking, I feel. It's much more than merely realizing the fundamental natures of men and women.

I was listening to one of Matt Forney's podcasts yesterday where he made a good argument. Matt stated "it takes to to tango. If it weren't for the fact that a man ejaculates into a woman's vagina, the baby wouldn't be there in the first place. Sure, it's her body, her choice, but it's his genetic material, his choice. His life and future choices are at stake, too. So of course he would do what he could to influence her to get an abortion".

[–]Endorsed ContributorRedBigMan 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Personally I think abortion is a shitty choice. Far superior to that would be to get the woman to put the child up for adoption.

The problem with that is soooo fucking many women see baby daddy as a meal ticket. Which is why they are so reluctant to remove said baby from their lives. Likewise children are a huge boost when people go looking for Welfare money. Considering how bad the mother has to be to get a kid taken away from her permanently, it's almost as if the government wants kids to grow up in drunk mom and crackhead mother houses rather than remove them from those situations and improve the children's lives. CPS type agencies are nothing but bullshit. They exist to enforce feminist ideology and rip fathers away from their kids for the slightest of complaints (IE. He was smoking tobacco in the house) but let a mother shoot fucking heroin with their 2 year old in the bedroom.

[–]muuh-gnu 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (15 children) | Copy Link

What I support is giving a man an option post-conception.

A simple question: Why?

He already consented by ejaculating, why should he have the (unnatural, TRP is usually proud to be realist about evolutionary biology) option to later change his mind and force the woman to either abort or bear the whole responsiblity? What benefit would the society get by allowing men to play games with impregnating a girl first and then changing their mind?

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

I see what you're trying to do here. You're trying to turn the realities of evolutionary biology into an argument against men's rights. These are 2 different things. A woman has a panoply of options to avoid getting pregnant or terminating a pregnancy that they don't want. They've got diaphragms and sponges that still allow them full feeling during sex, there are abortions and morning after pills, there are pills that prevent them getting pregnant in the first place if a man cums inside her. What options do men have? Surgery, or putting a rubber sleeve on your dick that makes sex slightly more pleasant than jacking off.

[–]muuh-gnu 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

A woman has a panoply of options to avoid getting pregnant or terminating a pregnancy that they don't want.

We're not talking about what women want or dont want. We were talking about men who first consent to a possible conception by ejaculating into a woman, but then retroactively want to get out of that consent.

What options do men have?

They have the exact same options women have, to risk or not to risk a conception by unprotected intercourse.

putting a rubber sleeve on your dick that makes sex slightly more pleasant than jacking off.

How pleasing the contraception options are is irrelevant to the argument.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

And what is the point of your argument, pray tell? That a man who cums inside a woman is consenting to possibly taking care of a kid for the next 18 years?

[–]muuh-gnu 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

That a man who cums inside a woman is consenting to possibly taking care of a kid for the next 18 years?

Yes.

A woman does also if she allows a man to ejaculate inside her.

But since it is her body, she can later just remove it from her body. She has more than one option.

The man can't because it is not his body. His options end at the point of ejaculation.

[–]Endorsed ContributorRedBigMan 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Well if you want to frame it in terms of evolutionary biology...

After the man gets a woman pregnant he has nothing to gain by continuing to support the woman in question. Evolution wise he'd be better served by finding another woman to get pregnant and dumping her too... repeat over and over and over again until so many bastards are left behind that his genes will survive for many many generations to come.

He already consented by ejaculating

Time to use some feminist thought process in reverse. Saying that is like saying a woman who was raped consented to sex because she had an orgasm while getting raped. Not every time you ejaculate is it with the intention of having a baby.

What benefit would the society get by allowing men to play games with impregnating a girl first and then changing their mind?

Perhaps society could create some sort of contract similar in nature to marriage (minus divorce rape) where two people consent to making a child and that children resulting from this contract would not be eligible to back out of the child created (barring subterfuge and the child not actually being genetically his, thus mandatory paternity testing of all children as a result of these contracts).

[–]muuh-gnu 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

he has nothing to gain by continuing to support the woman in question.

He can increase the likelihood of his progeny's survival.

Evolution wise he'd be better served by finding another woman to get pregnant and dumping her too.

Evolution wise it only makes sense if you can count on somebody else raising your progeny.

until so many bastards are left behind that his genes will survive for many many generations to come.

If you just dump your semen on random women, none of your kids might actually survive, considering how hard is to keep human babies alive. Also you have to consider that other provider cuckold males will not want to keep your bastards alive and might intentionally starve them.

Not every time you ejaculate is it with the intention of having a baby.

It is not only that you ejaculated, you ejaculated into a woman and you ejaculated without protection. You may not have intended to have a child, but you consented that with a certain likelihood conception could happen.

Perhaps society could create some sort of contract where two people consent

Instead of fucking around with carefully balancing consent and fairness, considering that the triumph of feminism has shown that women at large are not interested in a carefully tuned balance of powers but that if given an opportunity, they will institutionalize cuckolding by socialism, we could also simply stop targetting the middle ground and fully swing to the other side and collectively convert to something like Islam.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If you just dump your semen on random women, none of your kids might actually survive, considering how hard is to keep human babies alive

its not hard to do at thise time.

[–]Endorsed ContributorUsherai -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

And all that has absolutely no bearing whatsoever on the debate of post-conception rights and responsibilities. The simple fact is that now a woman who is pregnant has unilateral decision-making power over whether to have a baby. Given that men have no decision making power over the birth of the child, the only equitable thing would be to give men financial power.

[–]muuh-gnu 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Given that men have no decision making power over the birth of the child

They have no decision making power over a pregnancy for the simple fact that they cant get pregnant. Only those people who can get pregnant should have decison making power over their pregnancy.

All men can have decison making power over is ejaculation, because after that point, the process runs outside of their and inside of somebody else's body.

no bearing whatsoever on the debate of post-conception rights and responsibilities.

That is because the debate itself is so stupid. If you dont want to risk having to support a child, dont risk making one by ejaculating into a woman. It's that simple. What a woman does or doesnt after you voluntarily ejaculated into her is completely irrelevant.

[–]Endorsed ContributorUsherai 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

What a woman does or doesnt after you voluntarily ejaculated into her is completely irrelevant.

It's not irrelevant if you have to become a wage slave for the next 18 years coupled with having no rights to your child when having that child is subject to the whims of a cum receptacle. The situation is fucked. I know it won't change in this fucking country, hence why I plan to get out.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

What if a woman lies about taking birth control? What if a woman steals sperm from a condom and uses it to impregnate herself after the fact?

[–]muuh-gnu 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

What if a woman lies about taking birth control

Who cares what somebody else said or didnt say? If you ejaculated into a woman without a condom you consented to a possible conception.

What if a woman steals sperm from a condom

Statistically insignificant fringe cases.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Something I need to address here: a conception doesn't necessarily mean that a pregnancy is always carried to full term. The idea that "conception = a birth 9 months later" is something you seem to believe in based on your statements. A woman's body naturally aborts some fertilized ovums sometimes even before she was even aware she was pregnant, not to mention miscarriages that she's aware of. I can't tell if you're a paranoid MGTOW or a "Man-Up" Christian-type. Besides, the whole reason that the birth-control pill was invented in the first place is so that guys could raw-dog a girl and actually enjoy sex without the risk of a pregnancy. I know your feelings on the matter, but if I cum inside a girl who lies about being on the pill, I sure as hell DID NOT consent to a conception.

Victimhood is a socially acceptable preamble for a power grab. It's abused to fuck in modern society, and it works brilliantly.

Micro-approach: Girl wants something from you but can't get it so cries and everyone thinks you're immediately an asshole, you're too strong to take on 1v1 so she uses the power of the group to win.

Macro Approach: Someone flew a plane into one of our skyscrapers, if we do nothing we'll be terrorized, let's go invade entire countries in the name of defence. Ring a bell? Haha.

OR, no one should be dropping a baby off anywhere that isnt day care center. People who think its okay to abandon a baby need to be severely beaten and burned alive. Thats more civilized than leaving your own baby with strangers.

[–]NeedsMoreData 7 points8 points9 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

They're talking about safe haven laws, surrendering a child to hospital, firehouse, police station, etc. Not literally just abandoning a child at a random location.

[–]Endorsed ContributorRedBigMan 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah I recall something like Nevada or something made a safe haven law and declined to define the term 'child' so you get people from across the country showing up to abandon their teenage kids at a hospital and drive away. Crazy shit people will do.

[–]Skulder 54 points55 points56 points 12 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

It's just missing something - the father also accepts that he has no right to seek out the child until that child has reached 21 (or 18 or whatever) years of age, and that any such attempt makes the document null and void, making the father responsible for back pay of child support.

[–][deleted] 11 points12 points13 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

No, there's too much possibility for abuse when a contract has that sort of nuclear option on a hair trigger. Perhaps a fine for contact without the mother/guardian's permission, with the default condition being no permission to contact so that the father must seek permission every time he desires contact. Requiring back payment of child support, plus a penalty, would be a reasonable part of allowing the father back into the child's life.

A lesser condition on the father's return is fair because the father has no recourse if the mother wants an abortion and he doesn't. Unless you would agree to a law that says the mother needs the father's permission to get an abortion.

[+]Offensive_Brute -17 points-16 points-15 points 12 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

also the decision needs to be made by the father allowing the mother enough time to legally murder the baby if she is so inclined without the father support.

I would think that it would have to be a set time frame. I'm not particularly for abortions but I wouldn't want a woman to get abortion after that 26 week time frame, lest she has to visit one of those Kermit Gosnell types.

"Until males have their own affective birth control options, beyond condoms and blaming women, their opinions about female health issues and abortions should be significantly limited, and men should not be allowed to legistlate the care of organs they are born without, beyond generally accepted patients' rights provided citizens of both genders."

Agree. Have you seen the coverage of the Kermit Gosnell trial? No. Because the leftoids/fymynysts made a concerted effort to keep it out of the public eye. Granted I'm fairly conservative, yet I do think abortion is a choice, but when it holds a man a hostage just for the sake of holding him hostage I think that it is unfair, and the laws should be changed to benefit men as well as women. I'm 34 and I don't have the kids because I take the safe route, condoms etc, but no man should be punished just because he had a night of fun by some vindictive woman who has a problem with letting her own personal sluttiness go.

I've been making this same exact point for years. Either have this legal document, or ban abortion. I'm personally pro choice, as I don't think women should be told what to do with their bodies. I just am also pro choice for men. Sad day when being for equality makes one a misogynist.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Would never happen here in the US even though women are allowed to kill their fetuses. And yes, it's killing. You know why? A man killing a pregnant woman is charged with TWO murders - the woman and the baby. A woman killing a baby is just an "abortion" smh.

[–]30years 10 points11 points12 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Law school question:

In some jurisdictions the death penalty does not apply to single murder but it does apply to multiple murder.

A woman on the way to an abortion clinic is killed by her boyfriend.

He can then, legally, receive the death penalty.

If he had killed her AFTER her abortion, he cannot.

Does that not mean the law considers a fetus a person?

[–]Offensive_Brute 9 points10 points11 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Also forced abortions are considered first degree murder in many jurisdictions. the "logic" is that the baby is a human being with rights if the mother wants it to be a human being with rights. otherwise its a parasite that cn be chopped up and thrown in the trash at will.

There is a male birth control. Its called: condom, pull out, don't have sex.

Is it fair that women can take a pill, shot or implant and not get pregnant? No, its not. But its not like men's sperm just walks into vaginas without the mans control. I'll say it 100 times: You do not have the right to have consequence free sex. Pre birth control, if a women got pregnant by a man she wasn't married to she was the fool because she'd be left with a baby. If a man is fucking a woman (condomless) that he doesnt want a baby with a gets her pregnant (because he dumped his load in her willingly) thats his own damn fault.

You cannot tell another human being they have to get their uterus scraped because you don't want a baby. Thats the most outrageous thing I've ever heard in my life. They didn't steal your damn sperm. If they didn, I could understand. What would you say to a woman 100 years ago who got pregnant by a man and exclaimed "Its not fair he can just walk away"? "Well, you knew the risk right? So deal with it." No?

Imagine how many men would claim they just didn't want the kid even if they'd planned for it and later decided they didnt want to take care of it. Shit, should women just start abandoning kids they don't want because nature should let them have their fun without it resulting in a baby? Damn you nature. This topic is a fucking joke.

Men and women are equally responsible for the conception. What we are discussing here is what happens after that point. Women get the morning after pill and abortion if they do not want the child, and men have no say in their decision. If the woman decides to keep the child then the man has to pay child support, and again he has no say. Do you seriously not understand why this is unfair? We are still allowing women to do whatever they want with their bodies, so they would be getting a fair deal.

[–]muuh-gnu 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

and men have no say in their decision.

This is a simple consequence of the fact that it is not their body. They already consented to a pregnancy by ejaculating into the mother.

Do you seriously not understand why this is unfair?

Do you seriously not understand that this unfairness is a consequence of the fact that the entire pregnancy happens inside the female body?

Why is it "unfair" that a man can not retroactively object to something he already consented to?

Before condomless ejaculation, both the man and the woman can agree or refuse to give a conception a chance. After the ejaculation, only the woman can, simply because it her body and she can do to her body and to his semen inside her body whatever she wants.

Men should stop voting for socialists then. Feminazis couldnt force socialism on working men to finance their alpha-based single-mother reproduction scheme without the help of the majority of men.

If men are too stupid to vote for socialism and them keep whining about the consequences of socialism until the next elections and then again vote for socialism, it is their own fucking fault.

I can't help but contest this idea, if for no other reason than how close to home it hits for me.

A cousin of mine recently gave birth to the child of her ex-boyfriend, who left her after she refused to abort. He hasn't had to pay a dime so far, doesn't even want to see or hear about the kid he helped create, and his current girlfriend knows all of this and is still his number-one fan (perhaps attributable to his super-Red Pill demeanor, which I can verify after an encounter or two).

I'm probably biased because my family was involved, but one crooked thing about him not having to pay child support is the ridiculous income disparity between his family, who own something like half of his town, and my cousin's, who are at best solidly lower-middle class and now having to raise his spawn all on their own. Yes, his spawn. I'm aware as well as anybody how plotting and malicious some women can be in child support/custody cases, but they can't reproduce by themselves, having to be aided in this pursuit by men in an act to which, ordinarily, both parties fully consent.

In short: if you're not ready to handle all possible consequences of sex, most of which are usually preventable, you're not ready to have it. Don't attempt to blame women for an outcome which you also helped to determine; last I checked, one aspect of Red Pill theory was seeing through and disregarding denials of responsibility, etcetera from women, so why should we hold ourselves to a lesser standard of conduct?

[–]evilmonster 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I guess we are arguing for exactly this sort of situation. The boyfriend didn't want the baby, but your sister did. So she was basically trying to force her choices upon him.

If you are upset at what the boyfriend did, then I'm sure he would be more upset if he had to support the child for 18 years. When you take into account the potential for abuse and the potential for the man ending up in jail due to missing out on child-support, then it is a loaded minefield for the man.

There have been many documented cases where the man was ordered to pay child support based on his current earnings, and later when his fortunes declined, he was still expected to pay the same amount. Failure to do so would land him in JAIL. And yes, there are a lot of vindictive and opportunistic women out there who would take advantage of this fact.

So I hope you understand why men are very cautious about taking responsibility for a child. It is simply too high risk and the woman holds too much power over the man's life for it to be comfortable for the man.

So if your sister firmly decided to have a child REGARDLESS of the opinion of the father, then she must bear the consequences REGARDLESS of whether the father will support her or not.

It is pretty harsh but it is the truth.

[–]Savun 2 points2 points2 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

You're missing the point. I takes two to create a baby, yes. The point being made here is that after the baby was created by TWO people only ONE gets to choose the outcome of the rest of their lives. All because its HER body and HER decision. And I agree with that, a man should have no say in whether or not she chooses to keep the child.

Whats fucked up is that a man's future gets to be decided by a womans choice either based on moral, financial, social or religious views. All of which are NOT at all excusable.

  1. Moral: This is complete bullshit because its all based upon how the woman FEELS. So a man must be saddled with a burden he does not want just so this woman can feel good about herself? Then keep the baby and feel good about yourself. Just don't expect the man to support your MORAL decision because your morals are YOURS alone to deal with and not push off onto other people. It is only acceptable to do so when a person's immoral behavior hurts other people, like murder, rape and stealing. Its why we have laws.

2.Financial: This ones easy. If you're keeping a baby just because the man can provide you with a lot of money in child support, you're a gold digger, simple as that. Just because the man has the ability to provide does not make it right for it to be a court ordered obligation.

  1. Social: Her friends and family will judge her, boo fucking hoo. If you're keeping the baby to save face with your family, then do it. But don't expect a man to sacrifice for your emotional bubble. If you truly want to keep your social circle stable then be a big girl and provide for the child you chose to keep. Its simply not right to have someone else sacrifice to make your life better when they do not want any involvement, there is a word for this, slavery. There are degrees of it and this is definitely not the worse. But just because something isn't 'as bad' doesn't mean it should be accepted since its still WRONG.

  2. Religious: Afraid you wont get into heaven? Keep the baby. But basing your decision of religious reasons and expecting someone else to pay the price is pushing your beliefs onto other people, even if its indirectly.

Sorry about your friend but shes and adult with big girl responsibilities. Part of those responsibilities are making decisions that affect her life. She had a choice. I repeat she had a choice. It doesn't matter what her reasons were, it was HER choice alone when it came to that baby. No one else has a say in it thus no one else should have the responsibility.

"

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

You're correct in that, legally, only the mother holds the power to determine whether or not the child is born. I would argue that even a meager output of child support from the father could also alter the outcome of the child's life. Every case is different, but in the particular story I mentioned, child support payments would by no means alter the father's path in life (perhaps he'd have to buy a slightly used Ferrari rather than new, poor slave) and this particular child's future is much more uncertain.

To those who jump to conclusions quickly and ignore your opinion's apparent basis in abortion law, you might appear to be arguing that absentee fathers are in all cases free of responsibility for their actions, a stance which would flatly contradict your ideas of a mother's imperative to responsibility.

[–]realniggasstandup 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

Financial abortions are a pipedream.

Not even leftoids, the stalwarts of anti-personal responsibility, support a man walking out on his obligations to his children. A woman killing her child to abdicate the same obligations is seen as more acceptable because, as we've come to know, women are children and even feminists know this subconsciously.

The only equalizer (that is possible) in this is outlawing elective abortions.

[–]rcglinsk 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

What about just not getting pregnant in the first place? - Contrary to popular belief, accidents happen, ignorance happens. So not all babies are created on purpose. Telling young adults to only have sex for the purpose of having a child works about as well as the abstinence campaigns did when we were kids. So you can relieve yourself of that fantasy. Sex happens.

So, basically, being responsible for the consequences of one's actions is not going to alter one's behavior, therefore no one should be responsible for the consequences.

Eminently familiar logic there. Maybe we should call it manstering?

[–]rattamahatta 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

there should be a legal document signed releasing the man from obligation and his paternal rights.

Last I checked it takes two to take the risk.

Of course as the parent poster pointed out only one side of the equation gets any reproductive rights after the sex has happened. (HINT: it's not the man).

Women have multiple choices. Birth Control Pills, Morning After Pill, Abortion or Giving the kid up for adoption. Men have nothing aside from condoms or getting a vasectomy. Give men the legal framework to step away from all the responsibilities AND RIGHTS and you give them an option that is equal in power to abortion and give them some reproductive rights.

I also emphasized rights because rights are what say the man can be in a child's life, etc... whether he is eligible for visitation in the event the relationship does not work out. etc... and even then the state is quick to revoke father's rights at the behest of the mother.

If she knows that the man is abdicating responsibility for the child then she can STILL make a decision based on that information. If she thinks an abortion is best she can do that. If she wants to carry to term and give it up for adoption then she can do that as well or she can have it and try to raise it herself. After the man abdicates responsibility SHE STILL HAS OPTIONS.

[–][deleted] -3 points-2 points-1 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Men have nothing aside from condoms or getting a vasectomy. Give men the legal framework to step away from all the responsibilities AND RIGHTS and you give them an option that is equal in power to abortion and give them some reproductive rights.

This is a false dichotomy that asserts that the lives of only the men and women are in judgement. If a man and women get pregnant it is both of their obligation to ensure the survival of this child. As it was both the man and the woman to have sex, as like the guy above said sex always comes with the risk of pregnancy.

If you think I'm a "feminist" you are mistaken. Both parents should be responsible for their actions, and all forms of deception from either party should be dealt with. Men shouldn't be torn away from their children in a kangaroo government own court, then be forced with the government's power to pay blindly to the mother. .

Since it is the liberty of both parties that vested the creation of the child. The child who's has not had the ability to choose or even act up-on his own self interest should be treated in the best manner possible. To abandon, or abort a child is nothing short of murder. This should be applied to both parents equally.

Pregnancy is a biological contract between three parties that if broken is a form of coercion

This idea that since the women has the right to murder and neglect a child, while you the man must be responsible is wrong. However, giving both parties the ability to be irresponsible is also wrong. Just because we have this evil and corrupt "legal" system. Trying to commandeering it's immoral practices to suite our goals will only corrupt the integrity of our movement. And we will be morphed into what the feminists have become when they tried to do the same. I highly warn you all against going down this route. Argue with first principles, and change the hearts of minds of the common people. The politicians, lawyers, and judges won't listen to you.

[–]Endorsed ContributorRedBigMan 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Personally I support a pro-life ideology under the principle that adoption is superior to abortion. There are no shortage of couples out there who cannot have children themselves but wish to have a kid in their lives and make the conscious decision to adopt (where in most cases we see here women trick men into caring for someone else's offspring through subterfuge, trickery and shaming).

That said if we are in a state of nature. The moment a man gets a girl pregnant his job is DONE. He would go forth and look for non-pregnant ladies to get pregnant to spread his seed around as far as possible. The tactic of fire and forget is a very potent reproductive strategy for males.

In a state of nature when a woman gets pregnant her job is just beginning. She has 9 months of pregnancy to look forward to and 12-18 years of protecting and raising the kid. She has to keep in mind the amount of resources she has at her disposal and thus children are a huge expense for a woman.

Now we as human beings are (generally) thinking and intelligent creatures. Women in particular realize that they cannot raise many children on their own. Likewise, Men also realize that taking a personal hand in protecting the mother and raising the children improves their offspring's chances for survival. This pact and contract between man and woman became formalized under the codex of marriage. However, marriage in the past 50 years has been deconstructed and gutted as a wealth transfer device to penalize men from breaking the contract whilst giving women every opportunity to break this contract to engage in their hypergamous nature AND it's been rewarding them for it as well with things like Alimony and Child Support (which is often treated as 'extra alimony' because the mother never needs to prove that child support was spent on the child).

The end result of such an option for a man to walk away from a pregnancy that he does not wish or desire would be a powerful tool in the prevention of pregnancy coercion (that is women who stop taking their pills, who sabotage condoms, take and use used condoms to try get pregnant, and so on). Men are obliged to take all the precautions AND RESPONSIBILITY while women can be careless and carefree and still trap a man for an 18 year sentence. Remember that even if the man walks away from the pregnancy that SHE still has a plethora of options. At the very least she has abortion. She has adopting it after carrying it to term and she has the option of raising it by herself (without the financial and emotional support of the man in this case) or she can try to find a man who would want to raise it with her.

For the most part I'd expect most men would be responsible. Sometimes the responsible thing for some men is to get the hell out of the kid's life and stay that way (after all if you look at family court society that is politicians, lawyers and judges) seem to agree as long as cheques are being mailed to some dumb cunt.

Yeah, you hear that feminists? Down with abortion! /s

^ That's the same exact argument you're making when you apply the logic evenly.

That seems to me kinda like saying "the risk of driving is death." With modern birth control sex happens thousands (maybe tens of thousands) of times without resultant pregnancy. To assume people who engage in sex should, each time, consider the "risk" of pregnancy is a little absurd.

Unprotected sex? Sure. She's not on the pill? Of course. But in most situations between sexually active adults, pregnancy is rarely the outcome.

If my logic is flawed, feel free to correct me.

The a perfectly valid statement, if you don't drive there is a 0% chance of accident in a car.

[–]30years 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

True, but to present that we should consciously consider each time we drive that we are risking our lives is absurd.*

(*Unless you live in Russia.)

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Haha, well. Getting hit outside of a car by a car. Is out of the deductive logic of the metaphor is being made. But I get your humor.

[–]Bonig 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Biologically speaking, sex is for procreation. Driving is not for dying.

[–]SwordfshII 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Why does that risk only apply to men?

As men, that's what we do. We take the repercussions for our actions but we shouldn't have to suffer when the actions are enacted by people of both sexes. We don't control the keys to the pussy, women do, so if she gets pregnant is just as much her fault as it is ours, right? If it is equal in that sense then it should be equal both ways in all senses. If I don't want to be a dad I shouldn't have to be forced to be a dad, but I have no choice. If she doesn't want to be a mom she isn't forced to be a mom and she has a choice. That's where the inequality lies.

You have the choice not to have unprotected sex

so do women and yet they still have the option of abortion.

The laws are in place to support the child it doesn't suffer because of its parents bad decisions. Its not a way to attack men or women.

If this were true then the state would come in and take kids away from so many more parents because many children suffer because their parents are horrible parents. Since we dont see this happening in all but the most extreme cases (I've seen drug addicts get their kids back) then it is just a wealth transfer mechanism. The government doesnt get child support for children in foster care.

A woman should not be able to refuse an abortion if the man wants one

[+]dUdV -7 points-6 points-5 points 12 years ago* (5 children) | Copy Link

If a woman refuses an abortion when the man wants to have one, there should be a legal document signed releasing the man from obligation and his paternal rights.

Kids raised by single-mothers ends up way too fucked up for this to be an acceptable practice. Just force an abortion and tell the bitch to get a new sperm-donation from a willing father instead. Problem solved.

As opposed to how things are today? Buddy, we're already well past the tipping point in this regard.

Never. Going. To happen. At least not in the US.

IMO we need to hold women accountable and make them stand on their own two feet raising kids THEY, and only they, chose to bring into this world. Only then will other women have the opportunity to witness them failing spectacularly and living in the gutter as to use them as an example of what not to do. Being in poverty and possibly having their kids removed because they couldn't adequately care for them would most certainly be a wake-up call for man thousands, if not millions, of women who are going through life overly entitled with blinders on thinking Uncle Sam and men in general will save them from their mistakes. Once that lack of support becomes institutionalized only then will we see women take on the mantle of responsible reproduction. As far as I'm concerned we need to get the ball rolling on this sooner rather than later else we risk complete societal collapse.

Empowering women to make stupid decisions because they can rely on the state to extract wealth from men and give it to said women is enabling them to make poor decisions that detrimentally affects all of society.

[–]Endorsed ContributorRedBigMan 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You can only empower someone to make stupid decisions when they can suffer the consequences of their own stupid decisions. Right now we have a setup where women can make all the stupid decisions they want and have no consequences because the nearest man gets blamed.

I cant wait to see this happen. Society needs to collapse so that women can know the real deal. If it does happen, and women see that they need us, I'll be waiting with my sword/gun in one hand and a bad bitch in the other.

Yeah, because expecting women to act rationally has worked so great in the past.

Empowering women to make stupid decisions because they can rely on the state to extract wealth from men and give it to said women is enabling them to make poor decisions that detrimentally affects all of society.

Exactly my point, we need to pre-emptively abort every unwanted kid we can. Sterilize the repeat offenders (i.e. the women too stupid to take a pill).

[–]EdgarAllenNope -4 points-3 points-2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I don't know about that, OP. First of all, abortion should be illegal as it's murder. Secondly, it's your responsibility as a parent to support your children.

Classic Feminist Shaming Tactic Detected -> "Man Up"

Really there should be like some sort of contract required for men and women to agree to before they go and have a baby... Oh wait there was (Marriage) but we totally gutted it and made it utterly useless as anything but a wealth transfer mechanism from men to women.

[–]LasherDeviance 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

One man telling another man to "Man up" is not a shaming tactic. It's only a shaming tactic when post-wall wymyn, fags and manginas say it. I say it to all my beta friends when they complain to me about woman problems in different variations "man up, Sack up, stop being a fag, etc." Lets get it clear here that telling a man to better himself as a man from another man, "Man up" is not the same a getting told to man up from a bitter fymynyist hag. Got your back /u/Offensive_Brute.

Sure I'll accept that reasoning. However, I still feel telling a guy to 'man up' and accept a woman who got pregnant with his kid seems to very strongly fit the feminist agenda no matter how you slice it.

That said, I would imagine that the cases in which a man would desire to abdicate responsibility for a pregnancy. Perhaps a ONS got pregnant? Perhaps his cheating LTR/Wife got pregnant to try and keep them together (totally the wrong reason and you see this in a lot of 'blue pill' media where the girl gets preggo to keep the guy, and in reality we all know the odds are it's the cheater's baby). However, I would imagine in a vast majority of the cases that men would not be using the option discussed. However, having the option empowers men with some reproductive rights aside from abstinence/celibacy.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

men are are shaming other men to act in womens interest at the expense of their own all the time. just because its a man doing the shaming changes nothing.
