I want to pursue wealth not so I can hoard it and have a vacation house in the Hamptons but so I can retire early from the fucking rat race and spend the majority of my life doing what I love: traveling, cooking, exercising, reading, and fucking.

I want to be in good shape because I like the way my body looks with an 8 pack and I like being excellent at sports.

I pursue women because I'm a man and I like to fuck. And in the future I would hopefully like to have kids if I meet a woman who meets my lofty criteria.

There are biological influences that make wealth, status, etc. pleasurable. Most people find that pleasure is intrinsically good, and thus chase it and the things that bring it about. Those who don’t find pleasure intrinsically valuable or who find that the pursuit of wealth, status, etc. isn’t worth it don’t chase these things. Some people have found that drugs are far more effective; others value a spartan existence devoid of anything beyond the bare necessities. It’s up to you what you want to chase.

Note: I’m not a red pill dude, but a lurker who finds the philosophy interesting. However, this is not a red pill question, but a basic philosophical one, so I feel comfortable answering it.

That's the intricacy of life. You don't need to do anything because life is inherently pointless. Nihilism can tell us everything about it. However it comes with a solution - the point of your life can be anything. Anything is as pointless as it is... "pointful". If you feel happy where you are, okay. But maybe you will open your eyes one day and realize you want more and thus a next big adventure will happen. Who knows? It's hard to tackle this issue. I'm only 20 but know it takes a lot of time and wisdom so I like to take quick glances on topics like yours, to learn from others.

If I had any meaningful advice despite my inexperience, I'd say loosen up and follow joy to an extent that doesn't do you long-term harm (drugs and crime). Because, methinks, when you enjoy your life and your circumstances, that joy starts to multiply and extend into other areas of your life.

PS Why chase things that feel good? I'd say, because there is nothing else to chase. And why chase things at all? Because that is better than not-chasing anything. Stability is good but the thrill of new experiences seems to prevail. Even if it meant trying a new flavor of tea in the evening.

It’s biologically-wired within us. In life, most men desire two things; power and women. TRP shows us the path required to achieve these two things, we must make the effort and walk it.

But, some people, including you, may not feel these drives as strongly as others. You can easily derive your happiness in other ways. If you feel that you’re happy the way you are living, then so be it, you don’t need to change.

First thing to ask is, how old are you? It sounds like you're pretty young.

Maybe now, you are happy and secure. Sounds like you haven't had any real challenges, yet. Sounds like it's all gone pretty smoothly. Sometime later in life, it may change. The world isn't as rosey and comfortable as you think. At some point depression, upheaval, dissatisfaction, loss, regret, doubt etc all rear their head.

Sometimes it's not until you experience tough emotional periods, do you discover the motivation and impetus to grow. Not all of it is about chasing those external things in order to bring happiness, it's simply embracing challenge, obstacles and difficulty.

Simply I’d say there are 2 things that can help classify those that work on themselves and those who don’t:

You are 100% happy where you are
You have the drive to get closer to where you want to be

If you’re happy where you are but you’re not driven to achieve, you get comfortable. Good example is the alpha who gets ltrd and stops lifting, having friends etc. Why should he climb? His ltr makes him happy

If you’re unhappy and have goals you want to achieve you will do whatever it takes to achieve them. example are the bros that come to the subreddit to fix their life and end up hitting the gym

If you’re unhappy and have no drive then you’re probably in some emotional slump or have some mental issues to get checked. You shouldn’t be unhappy and undriven most of the time.

If you’re happy and driven then you’re curious. You continue improving not because you need it to be happy but simply because you’re curious. Why you would be curious might be because you’re interested in finding ways to feel even more happy, or reach different states of happy. Someone who’s happy lifting might want to try his luck with women, not because he needs her to be happy (he has lifting for that) but because he’s interested in the different positive emotions she can bring him that he’s not used to.

Takeaways You shouldn’t be guy #1. Not because of a woman (you can be content and comfortable doing anything) but because nothing lasts forever and that thing that makes you happy today might not be there tomorrow. you could always worry about it tomorrow though but not a good idea and not really promoted by trp. You should be driven as a man to achieve because it’s smarter to have options available.

You’re probably guy #2, things to fuel your drive are in the sidebar. Start with lifting.

If you’re guy #3 your ltr of 3 million years probably cheated on you or your dad died and now you feel like shit and just don’t care about anything. Take some time to yourself and deal with your emotions on your own. It’s not bad to take time for yourself once in awhile. Then you can determine if you’re really guy #1 or #2

If you’re guy #4 then you’re probably living a pretty good life. Lots of cash but want more. Lots of babes but want more. You have options and you spend your time making more options and constantly developing yourself as a person through experiences. Personally this is who I strive to be.

If you want to spend your entire life having to work 9-5 every day in order to make your monthly payments on your stupid car/house/kids etc, and you’re happy doing so, then there’s no problem.

For me, I know I’m only getting one life and I’m sure as hell not going to spend it working my ass off so another man can sit on a beach somewhere drinking tequila all year round making 20x the money I am.

You do not become happy by playing video games, or watching TV, you get pleasure,but a life full of pleasures can be meaningless and not fulfilling. You feel like you've wasted your time when you played video games, and so do I. But still, why working your ass off would be better ? The feeling of accomplishement is great: i recently hit an important milestone through 2 years of hard work, and the feeling, is better than any video games, or whatever the fuck you might think of, i'm talking about 2 days where you even have trouble to sleep because you're too happy and you can't stop thinking about that thing you accomplished. Then it fades, but what is left of it ? More than the potential outcome of the achievement, memories are created. Do you remember anything of the games you played last month ? I never do. But i know i will keep the memories of me achieving significant things all my life, sometimes remembering the past with a big smile, i know that everytime i will watch myself in the mirror, wondering if what's facing it is of any worth, i can think of what i accomplished in the past. And most importantly, when my time comes, i want to be in a bed thinking 'damn, what a happy life, i can go now' I probably won't be totally satisfied, but it's up to me to get as close as possible.

Oh, sure, sometimes you'd have sex and one or both of you would think "that wasn't such a great idea". But that didn't mean one of you started posting to Instagram that you'd just been raped, nor did it mean you reported it to the police. It just meant you thought a bit more carefully about it in future.

I can't help but think in a world where girls are basically encouraged to believe that "that didn't go as well as I'd have liked" is tantamount to rape, the natural response from men is to be a helluva lot more careful where they put their dicks.
