I feel like I see this sentiment over and over again on highly neurotic places such as reddit, however it never really made sense to me. Yeah, in the real world most people aren't expecting to either get hit on or engage in random social interactions while they go about their day but with the right person and the right mindset it never really matters.

I and most Men I know have met Women at grocery stores, walking to a skate park, on a beach, on a sidewalk, on a bus, on a train, at a meetup event, at pre games, job fairs, at an entirely new location asking locals for cool things to do, etc...with the entire point of actually just trying to meet Women non platonically (making new friends is cool too). Some of my most successful friends literally go about their days talking to random Women EVERYWHERE. To be honest it is frustrating to me because they go so overboard with it and I'm just trying to get from point A to point B. But fact of the matter is, it makes for an interesting life because for every 8 or so girls that blow them off the next one is actually down to have a conversation or eventually hang out. These guys also have no fear of rejection and simply do not give a fuck if people are slightly inconvenienced by their approach. Also they aren't ugly.

Why is it such a problem for people here, especially when they give brain dead nerd dating advice? The entire "OMG YOU'LL LOOK CREEPY" is absolutely not a big deal. If you have normal social skills and walking up to a person made them think you are a creep then changing the context will probably not make a huge difference. The vast majority of people who are not interested in conversation will blow you off, mainly politely and if you can't pick up that social cue that's on you.

They probably wouldn't want to talk to you on a boat, on a moat, under a bridge, in a ditch, while holding yams, never and no where even with green eggs and ham. However, if your personalities were to mesh anyway and you passed a bar of initial attraction you could literally start a conversation nearly anywhere.

It seems to me like Reddit advice is just getting to the point where Men just shouldn't even bother trying to meet Women for the sake of meeting Women.

Don't do this, don't do that, don't go here, that makes you a creep, don't have any intentions, don't talk to strangers, don't join a club just to meet girls, also do social activities but not the wrong kind, also don't do social activities just to meet Women, but don't complain when you don't, also this also that, also be a psychic and know 100% she wants to talk or you're evil, blah blah blah

Part of me thinks its a subconscious selection mechanism because guys who have to ASK are guys Women don't want to meet and therefore should just stay away. Part of me also thinks Reddit self selects for the terminally online with a host of neuroses who would wilt due to social anxiety because a stranger asked for the time. The sad thing is I feel a lot of these guys who take this advice seriously will develop even worse neuroses and actually think even attempting to talk to a Women is a massive inconvenience. The latest Menslib thread is basically some dudes too scared to even attempt to have sex with their girlfriends because they think their sexuality is some weird evil. What do you all think?

TL;DR: You can meet Women (and Men) anywhere and everywhere and anyone telling you not to go to a place to meet them is full of shit and isn't acting in YOUR best interest.
