The TRP subreddit is kind of like a woman's mailbox on a dating site.

If a woman wants to find a decent guy for a date or hookup this weekend, she's gotten messages from several. But when she opens her mailbox with 250 messages, she has to weed through 50 copy-paste low-effort messages and outright creepy sexual shit, all from ugly losers before coming across one decent message. Sometimes, she gets annoyed or frustrated with the entire process and quits before she finds one. Sometimes she quits online dating altogether for a month or two. And when she does find that decent message, it's some mediocre guy that doesn't work out beyond two or three hookups, and she probably could have found a better message from a better guy but didn't want to have to dig through any more garbage to find it. In fact, 99% of the good messages she gets go entirely unread.

The TRP is subreddit is a little like that.

The sidebar is decent. The bizarre cults of personality around certain posters and the obsession with shitty novel-length rants full of randomly bolded text really put a damper on things IMO.

The game thing includes a lot of BS PUA stuff that is best ignored. TRP is, however, a good place to learn about the darker aspects of female behavior that are glossed over almost everywhere else. If a guy reads TRP critically and ignores the obvious BS and alt-right political/racist stuff he can learn quite a bit about what woman actually respond to (as opposed to what they say they want).

Much of TRP's sidebar material is very good. Posts under tag "science" are also useful to get a grip of things. But the sub has been infected with PUA garbage since day 1 and it gives false hope to young men that if they have good "game" they can have any woman they want. In fact, the latter contradicts the very essence of TRP philosophy, which dictates the exact opposite fact, that you can't have anybody you want unless you compensate in looks, money or -most importantly- status. A short bald Indian janitor can't have a middle class white Stacy, no matter how good his game is.

TRP's field reports are also stupid as hell, most of the time written by rich guys who fuck with their money or by incels in denial who're just larping.

Moreover, women are not impressed by your "game". They are impressed by how masculine, confident and self-fulfilled you are. What PUAs call "game" is in fact how a man should behave spontaneously and of course it needs to go side by side with his overall appearance and status (which PUAs deliberately omit to mention).

On the other hand, TRP's advice on self-improvement and dealing with issues like shyness, social anxiety, inferiority complex, etc. are more than useful.

TRP can help you self-improve and get women in your league in terms of looks, money and status but definitely not above your league.

I’ve seen some useful shit there. I’ve seen some really unhelpful shit, too. I think calling it a “toolbox” is pretty accurate. People that know how to use tools might find a useful new concept or exercise. People who don’t know how to use tools will probably pick up the hammer on top and just wander around pounding on everything whether it’s helpful or not.

Personally for "Game" specifically I would say no. Even /r/seduction I would say no.

As far as "Game" and "PUA" goes, I would go elsewhere.

I know nothing about you, so I am not going to make any recommendations, but as a low run down:

RSD: Possibly good for introverts, focuses on a persons inner world.

MM: More of an Extrovert thing but needs dedication adn practice

Hypnotica: Collection of Confidence is great, but just builds confidence. But great for inner game. Masters Circle is amazing (and the Hypnotalks just sink it into your subconcious). But none of this is free.

Ross J: Good for inner and outer, but stuff is all over the place and his products are not cheap.

Love Systems: The interview series are good. There system is a touch up on MM.

But all that said, just go out and speak to women. And do a bit of meditation in the evenings. You should see improvement in your game.

I left that shit when it got overrun by white supremacists (and I was barely on it at all). I'm sure it is worse now, it has strayed a lot from the original purpose to just be another alt-right sub. And alt-right isn't good for "improving your game with women".

YouTube is a good place to start. It'll give a better understanding of social interaction. Listening to different people talking is a good example of how inflection in the voice can be used.

It also doesn't hurt as a way to catch up on topics that would come up in conversation. Haven't seen a movie? There are numerous reviews that detail it shot for shot, as well as summarize it in ways you might not have if just watching it, all in less than ten minutes.

One great channel I recommend is ILoveTheVH1. Back in the day (2003) VH1 had a group of series called "I Love the-whichever decade here". It goes back to the 70's. Each episode is an hour long telling of one year in that decade. It goes over pop culture, politics, fashion, etc. A lot of the references I know today is because of that series. There's no one I can't have a conversation with.

How much advice do people need?? You could pick one of many posts there that lay out everything a boy needs to do to become a man. You could pick one of many that lay out everything you need to know and do to become more attractive to women.

TRP could shut down right now and there would still be a shit ton of good information.

So yes, it’s still a good resource.

Its been shit for a while now. Went the way of 4chan in a sense. 4chan was great in say...2004/2005. Then it became shit around 07/08, and just a bunch of losers who never grew up.

TRP is the same. Instead of actually implementing their "improve yourself" stuff just more recent. They turned into just bitching. When you are 22 and doing that stuff fine, but they reached mid 20s, then late, then 30s, and continue to complain but not actually do the solution they also say (work on yourself).

All communities online eventually age and phase out.
