An act of misogyny would be one motivated by the hatred or dislike of women, or by the belief in female inferiority.

For example, is using a woman for casual sex an act of misogyny? Is a man divorcing his middle aged wife an act of misogyny? Even if both harbor no ill will towards women and don't hate them?

Unless these acts are motivated by a belief that women are inferior or a hatred of women, then they are not misogynistic.

Misogyny is defined as a dislike of, contempt for or prejudice against women. Thus, actions themselves are not misogynist. Beliefs and motivations are. This includes beliefs that women are inferior (contempt) and notions like AWALT (prejudice).

So, the man who leaves his wife because he doesn't love her, as an individual, anymore is not acting in a misogynist manner. However, the man who leaves his wife because ALL women are selfish whores who will eventually leave, is. In the same way, a man who has casual sex with a woman because he enjoys it is not a misogynist, but a man who "uses" a woman for casual sex because that's all he thinks women are good for (even if he doesn't feel malice toward her), is

This applies in the same way to misandry. A woman who leaves her husband because she doesn't love him, as an individual, anymore is not acting in a misandrist manner. A woman who leaves her husband because ALL men are lazy, abusive, good for nothing, rapey cheaters, is.

Misogyny is behavior or idea motivated by dislike/hatred of the female sex or innate belief in their lack of potentiality (female inferiority). To accuse someone of being misogynistic is also to accuse them of having this motivation.

Many such accusations of motivation are without evidence. Disagreement is not on definition, but on what is considered significant evidence.

Basically any belief that says "I can do this thing but you can't/shouldn't because your genitals are different."

Misogyny is an overused and often misused term.

It's almost become synonymous with the term ''sexism'', even so sexism and misogyny are two different concepts (even so there's a lot of overlap amongst men who hold the ''sexist'' position).

Misogyny - as in an actual hatred for women - is a mindset which is only held by sexual failures.

Just look at areas where misogyny is a prerequisite, TRP, MRA, MGTOW, etc.

The one common denominator amongst these ''men'' is that they are all sexual failures.

They then solipsistically hate women because the pretty m'ladies aren't paying attention or showing affection towards me, me, me, me, me!

It's the epitome of feels before reals.

Sexism - acknowledgment that men and women are different and have different skill sets meant for different jobs.

Misogyny - acknowledgment that men and women are different and that men are better. Acts of misogyny - putting down femininity, and referring to women in a sub-human way. The casual sex could be misoginistic if he really is just using her in a sub-human way. Same with the divorce, if he discards her without acknowledgment that she is a human being with feelings and a life as well.

What exactly is the point of this question? I've never heard anyone claim that either of these things or similar are inherently sexist from the blue side. I have heard many reds claim that high divorce rates are a direct result of anti male sexism, though. I've also heard them claim that women not having sex with them is an aggressive and oppressive action.

Almost anything can be a misogynistic act if done by a misogynist. Ignoring a woman saying hello to you in the coffee shop is sexist if you're only doing it because you hate women. Contrarywise, just because something appears sexist from the outside, doesn't necessarily mean there's sexist intent. Some guy who's aggressive towards women could just be a pscychotic misanthrope who is aggressive towards everyone. That's why context matters.

The BP/SJW definition of "misogyny" includes anything that offends their dainty sensibilities.

Admitedly, at TRP, we have the "phasers" who have been ignored, dismissed or jerked around by enough women that they hate them for a while.

Other than that, TRPers do not hate women. They expend so much effort in trying to spend time with women that the notion is absurd.

The Wall, AWALT, The Hamster etc are not misogyny. They are propositions of fact that are at worst sexism.

A critical mindset at TRP is DNGAF, which is indifference, not hatred.

No, not really. "Misogyny" is a generally negative attitude toward women for characteristics that define them as "women."

For example, someone saying that "Women are weak because they are women" would be a misogynistic statement.

What are they disagreeing about? The definition of misogyny and what constitutes misogynistic acts or behaviors? I don't think there's really any debate. Any thoughts or behaviors that are against women simply because women are women, and therefore "bad/weak/stupid/etc.," are misogynistic.
