Are outgoing men and women equally valued, or is one gender more valued for being outgoing?

Shy girls can be cute. Shy/introverted men are at a severe disadvantage since they're still having to initiate contact.

I have met a few women who were shockingly gorgeous but rather shy and withdrawn. That is far more attractive than the hot chick who knows she is hot and is outgoing, but maybe that is just me.

Outgoing = everything gets put on the table too quick, can be annoying/loudmouthed.

I love getting an otherwise shy girl to open up.

If physical beauty is equivalent, I'd always go with the shy girl.

Chances are shy, introverted women are less work than outgoing women. They've usually cultivated other skills that a outgoing woman has never been forced to learn. And they are more willing to support your life goals.

A shy, beautiful woman is somewhat of a rarity. If she is beautiful then she has usually put a lot of work into being beautiful because she is outgoing and wants attention. The shy and average to slightly above average looking woman is a lot more common.

I think outgoing women have it a lot easier because they usually know the techniques for getting male attention in social situations. I do think it's a lot easier for shy women than shy men, though, because a shy woman will get some attention, although it might not be from the type of man that she wants to date. A shy male could go his whole life without a date and nobody will really care except perhaps his parents.

Shy introverts make better wives/ltrs, tend to be more modest. But they'll still cheat and/or branch swing if their man becomes too unattractive.

Outgoing flirty girls are super fun, but because they're flirty they're more likely to cheat or grab another man's attention.

AWALT holds for both, but the shy introvert is a safer gamble.

An introverted guy should only go for introverted girls, an extroverted guy can go for either type.

Introverted /= shy. I like introverted girls, but shy ones? Nah. It's my experience that shyness in women is often a mask for prudishness.

Depends on how shy. If I have the drag the words out of her and carry every single conversation then I find her shyness a turnoff.

People mostly like others that are outgoing. If they're outgoing themselves, the two go hand-in-hand, and if they're shy themselves, an outgoing person can take charge and show them a bunch of cool stuff. You'll get some people who legit want to stay away from social things and move at a slower social pace, they'll prefer a shy person that can move at that pace with them.

Personally, I could never really get behind why objectively beautiful (or just reasonably attractive) women had low self-esteem on the physical front.

(i.e. thinking they're merely average at best)

I realized that I need someone who is outgoing to match my personality. But that one can be tough, because it feels like a double-edged sword. If it's a 'girl's night' and your chick is going to the club with her besties to skank it up, I don't like that and likely won't tolerate it. On the other hand if she says her friends are taking her to this new restaurant and is very excited to try; that's definitely a positive. It's kind of a balance of the person being unafraid to get into new social environments, but also choosing environments that are a positive experience.

Shy girls make you want to protect them, make it easier to initiate and be confident, all around great package. Extros are probably easier to handle though? Like their emotions are visible right off

I don't know very many beautiful girls who are categorically shy. Usually, they are used to be at least fairly socially successful due to their beauty, so they have no reason for shyness (except for the obvious situations where anyone might feel shy).

But both types have their pluses and minuses. Depends on the individual.

My wife is a massive introvert, but she is also incredibly outgoing, so that should tell you something...
