What's glaringly obvious about these articles is that they are targeting a subset of women much smaller than "employed woman over 30". The women in these articles are 100k+ want a man who makes better money than them, has never been married, and has no previous children. The also want a man to commit to them straight away. Goes without saying they want a man who is emotionally healthy and attractive.

Most men who meet their standards paired off with women like them a decade prior.

Their fussiness is not a product of being single for so long, their being single for so long is a product of their fussiness.

Whatever gender you are, complaining is only going to make you look less attractive, more desperate, and further damage your marriage prospects. Women can complain in the media, but they're really just hurting themselves by doing so. To me this question is like, "Why are women allowed to make a public embarrassment of themselves, but men aren't?" Why would you want to be allowed to do that? It's not in your best interests.

I think women intuitively know what men find attractive.

She's more upset that what she wants isn't what a potential male mate wants.

She dislikes the fact that she's going to have to sacrifice her desires for his in order to keep a man.

I mean most men want a woman who is his "helper" or "help-mate."

I'm just not sure most women dream of being someone's "little helper."

I also realize men sacrifice things too for women.

But I believe men have a more natural incentive than women to behave in such a way.

I imagine if women had the libido and sex drive men had, they would be a lot more "self-sacrificial" toward all men because the incentive to do so would be far greater.

Women, however, feel that degree of selflessness towards their kid because she quite literally made it.

It's essentially biological checks and balances.

I couldn't imagine a world where men got sex easily and all women wanted to do was fuck. Men would have zero incentive to create. And women would have even less incentive than men already do to care for the kids created by all of this mindless fucking.

We would devolve into disease and eventually kill ourselves off via hyper deadly STDs and lack of industrial/technological advancement.

Who is stopping "lonely nice guys" from publicly complaining about anything? It's just so much melodrama when you act like receiving negative response is being prohibited from doing something. "Lol no, you're single because you're a creep/because you cling/because you're ugly/whatever mean thing someone might say" is not the same as being forcibly silenced; it's just childish to equate the two. "Post-wall career women" are just as liable to receive negative responses when they bitch about being single as anyone else.

The problem with career women isn't that they don't understand the value of looks or sweetness, it's that they have impossible standards.

In my experience women like that take very good care of their looks, often more so than women who aren't career women. They're less likely to smoke, ruin their skin with tanning beds etc.

And "Sweetness" wouldn't be a problem. Believe it or not, it's not unusual for career guys (the ones they want) to appreciate women who share their values and personality. Which means ambition is a very attractive trait. I'm a career guy myself and I find women who aren't ambitious and don't care for politics hopelessly boring most of the time.

But I agree they can whine more - although more and more journalists are writing about how their problem is that they have impossible standards.

This is because of the traditional high value placed upon loving relationships compared to the hedonism of sexual fulfillment. Whining about lack of sexual fulfillment makes you seem like a superficial guy who only thinks with a penis. Whining about not finding a relationship makes you look like somebody who is wrongfully suffering because you're not receiving the emotional, loving companionship that most people who aren't TRPers think is more important and actually an essential human need. After all, men always have their hand. There's no way to emulate a fake relationship at the moment, though (until AI advances more).

There's no law against the NiceGuy saying something. There's no law against women who've left it late and are facing the reality of there being fewer men available saying something. However, both of them face consequences for speaking out. The main consequence is looking like a person who is too pathetic to cope with what is after all a relatively common form of failure. If the women appear to be weathering this consequence better than the men I am forced to conclude that the dynamics involved are that the women anticipated the consequences better and only proceeded if they were willing to take the consequences, and that the men involved live in some sort of lala fairyland where they think that so long as a man has enough manfeelz about the matter there will be no consequences to him in revealing how pathetic his ability to cope with bogstandard failure is.

He's not lambasted for his actions trying to get laid (hell, we all put on certain fronts. A first date is just your personality's ambassador meeting his personality's ambassador), but for his actions after he's been shot down.

Don't want to be accused of being a "nice guy"?

After being romantically rejected, don't sulk, don't be passive aggressive, don't be rude, don't yell, and don't cause a scene.

Instead, either value the woman's friendship and maintain it, or move on with your life.

A guy having a toddler-esque temper tantrum that belies his nice pretense is why women refer to this group as Nice GuysTM. Because they're not as nice as they pretended to be.

Question for all: In your personal opinion, is there anything at all that women are less allowed to complain about than men?

Does it then follow that the real matter is: the culture (or the species) tolerates male complaint less than female, in general.

You could easily posit an evo-psych explanation: an unhappy woman is a threat to the tribe's future, should her unhappiness harm her health and ability to bear and rear offspring. An unhappy man can simply be replaced by another man's sperm. If the guy commits suicide due to unhappiness, it still won't be likely to affect the total fertility of the tribe.

I would tell my future daughters to date nice guys. The relationship will be a lot more secure because the nice guy is less likely to leave them. "Reformed nice guys" are much more likely to leave a relationship or be controlling.

Well, here we go...we were told go to university, find a life partner. Guess what? we were lied to as well by our parents/society...and some of us bitch about it, but you know what, I think it's good. I'll have a great job and if someone (yes someone eventually did) entered my life, so be it. But I wouldn't revolve my life around that.

I don't know why people continue to make these assertions about confidence and nice guys.

There are plenty of nice guys who are successful. Looks trump everything. Looks + socio-economic status = massively attractive person. When women meet someone like this they then attribute qualities that he doesn't actually possess to him because they think that he's attractive.

Everything else is simply an attempt to compensate for not possessing these qualities.
