I wish I read all of this needy stuff a few months ago before my relationship imploded. I can check off almost everything in the OP. She came out and told me I was being needy and I knew there was no coming back from that.

My girl was obsessed with me and I became addicted to it. She knew what she was doing. She would ask me 4 times a day if I missed her. At first I played it like I didn't care but she wore me down and told me she wanted a nice guy. When I said "maybe" I missed her it would drive her crazy. I didn't listen to her at first but over time I thought she liked me so much what would be the harm in being a little nice. When I admitted I missed her she acted like it was the best day she ever had so I thought I was doing a good thing.

After I started being nice to her she gradually started pulling away (texting less, not asking if I missed her, not bringing me food, less sex) which made me need her more. I didn't know what was happening and put more effort in to getting her to like me like she used to, which made her like me even less. It was a downward spiral to neediness that I couldn't come back from and didn't even realize it was happening at the time until she shattered me by telling me what I had become. I think at the end she just played games with me and kept me around until she found another guy before breaking it off. She told me we had an amazing start but it "really went off the rails" because of how needy I became.

She works nearby so I have to see her everyday. I wish there was a way to go back but I don't see how I can ever gain her respect again or a way to prove I don't need her anymore. I definitely have a higher value than her, better job, better looking, younger, no baggage etc, but my neediness destroyed my value. I would still be with her if I just wasn't honest about my feelings and played it cool like she didn't matter, which really sucks.

A few months later I learned the secrets of Hinge and began slaying pussy like it was my job. I felt good about myself. I became addicted to closing on girls and going on dates. If I didn't have any hinge matches, I felt like a loser. If I didn't have a plate or 2, I felt like I wasn't worthy anymore. My validation methods were still broken.

I'm 17 so a lot about what you said in this post really does not apply to me. I've never even been in a relationship before. However, I have this fire in me to prove myself and succeed, not just with girls but with all aspects in life. What advice would you give to someone my age?
