A lot of discussions on here involve the idea of whether or not men or women believe in true love, unconditional love, or other types of relationships. I have never seen this story discussed on here, so I though to bring it up:

Ricky Naputi, a 900 pound man from the Island of Guam, lived with his wife of 8 years, Cheryl. When Cheryl and Ricky first met, Ricky was already quite overweight. For the past 5-6 years, Ricky has been entirely bed-ridden, and taken care of by Cheryl. There have been multiple attempts to intervene by medical experts to help Ricky lose weight, about 100 pounds enough to get bariatric surgery, but they have failed.

About a few weeks before he died, he was visited by an expert bariatric surgeon and his team, who actually flew to Guam to see him. The surgeon, upon greeting them, commented that Cheryl, Ricky's wife, is a big part to blame for Ricky failing to lose the weight, because she is the lone provider of the amount and quality of food Ricky eats. He suggests the two not living in the same room together, and having someone else take care of Ricky for the time being.

Several days after that, Cheryl comes in to Ricky's room, and abruptly tells him she is leaving him, as in divorcing him, and will be moving away. About an hour or two later, she finds Ricky unconscious, with his bottle of anti-depression medication entirely emptied. Upon arrival of emergency services, he is pronounced dead at the scene.

I gave kind of a summary of the story/documentary, but in your opinion, was this women being immoral or wrong for leaving her husband? Should she have just stayed with him, knowing she is his only reason for living?

Thoughts?

EDIT: When I say is she wrong, i don't mean she is to blame, but rather should she have done what she did, in your eyes?
