I've been sexually harassed .

I have a better example involving a male friend who wore womens leggings , what we call yoga pants now - for around a year .

He was routinely groped by women and the police even threatened him with arrest .

Just because he was displaying himself the way women routinely do .

Sexual harassment is de facto little more than unsolicited and unwanted sexual attention. "unsolicited and unwanted sexual attention that's perceived as threatening in some way" if you want be more precise.

You'll rarely get that happening to men for the following reasons:

men are less likely to get sexual attention
the sexual attention they get is less likely to be truly unwanted
and it's considerably less likely to be perceived as threatening (which coincides with it being less likely to be truly unwanted)

So yeah, I can see why this is considerably less of a thing for men than for women.

Yes. A very attractive young ex colleague of mine was systematically tormented by several of his students, while the school administration did nothing about it. It took several of us complaining to the education department for the girls to be effectively disciplined.

It happens a lot but I think men are relecteant to bring it up. Unfortunately many times they aren't taken seriously. Abuse and harassment can happen to anyone regardless of gender.

Was at the mall and a girl groped some guy. He was with his gf at the time and she was livid. Yelling and screaming at this other girl. Mall security got involved and that's as far as I know. Doubt anything would have happened without the gf being so loud and pushing the issue

I have been on various occasions, but the worst was last year when I was in a business-social gathering, with a proportion of 10 to 1 (women to men) and the average age of the people involved being 40-45. This sober woman on her 40s (attractive though) had been living in my hometown for some years and at first she wouldn't let me alone because she wanted to share her experiences of living there and compare them with mine. We kinda knew each other from similar events, but I had never talked with her before. I indulged her, but that was a mistake, as the experiences started to become more intimate and she'd start to touch me more and more aggressively.

Since I was a pure beta male idiot with no spine and women were infallible, I basically froze and I was afraid to tell her off due to me being the youngest in the room and the women to men ratio. She was basically molesting me in a corner while everyone around played it like if they were not realizing. It was something like "Why don't you talk much?" she asked so I said "I'm a bit tired". "Why? You didn't sleep at all last night eh? Probably with some young girl, give me all the details? Was she good? I bet she had no experience. Did she moan? I'm very loud you know?"

It went on for a while like this until she put her hand on the back of neck and I slapped it away and stormed out. I felt quite violated.

Boundaries, man or woman, are a fucking must have.

It's happened to me many times, FWIW, though I didn't really think of it as harassment, per se, as I never felt "threatened" or "violated." It was more annoying or kind of embarrassing than anything.

I have a good friend who had to sue for sexual harassment, however, as the spurning of his boss' advances caused him all kinds of problems at work. He won.

Women regularly make unwanted advances on men.

Genders and gender roles are not symmetric. There are a lot of reasons it's less of an issue for men.

Yeah, when I was in junior high me and my friend were waiting by the door getting ready for the teacher to dismiss us. While we were waiting one of our classmates came up and rubbed her hand on my friends crotch. She also did the same to me and both of us didn't mind and brushed it off. Objectively speaking she wasn't that attractive but she wasn't ugly either, maybe that had a lot to do with why we didn't complain or report her.

I saw some old ladies (70s? 80s?) hounding all the young Marines in their dress blues when we had the Marine Corps ball at a casino. These kids had gotten back from Iraq a few weeks prior, and they were literally running from these ladies. They had to change into civies so that they could gamble without be accosted.

Yes, plenty of times, but only when the man at hand is hot. Spending the majority of my free time with my model/football stars friends, I see women coming up to them, touching them freely, pursuing them even when my friends say no, and if the girl is hot she becomes aggressively violent because she has never been rejected before.

True story: one time my brother and I were visiting our grandfather in the nursing home, and an old woman in a wheelchair reached out, grabbed his crotch and said something like "Give me some of that good stuff." That was...something else. I'm pretty sure she was not all there.

Other than that I saw a lot of girl-on-boy bullying when I was a teacher, which was extremely troubling. None of it was sexual in nature though, that I recall.

Yes, it was "resolved" by him basically laughing it off and ignoring it, and I thought it was gross/kind of disturbing. I clumsily (drunkenly) tried to let him know it was okay to just tell her to fuck off, but he told me he wasn't bothered by it. Still made me lose a good measure of respect for the woman in question, though

Yes. At a work's Xmas dinner, a bunch of my co-workers were making a running joke of how attractive one of the waiters was. They were very drunk. It was obvious he was deeply uncomfortable and feeling a little threatened. I was new to the job (and the town... I'd moved there to take up work... my first real job with salary rather than hourly wages) and the managers (mostly male) were present and and didn't say anything so I stayed quiet about it.

The waiter dealt with it by avoiding our table as much as possible and getting other workers to help deal with us.

I've been that male.

In college I had an awesome body -- I looked like an underwear model. I also have a large and shapely butt for my frame.

I've had my ass grabbed at least a dozen times during college, and a couple more times afterward. It was surprising... sometimes even startling. Ultimately, I wasn't too bothered by it.

Men don't have that visceral revulsion to harassment, as there's no pregnancy risk. Usually it ranges from annoying to validating.

Yeah, one of my coworkers at a cafe I used to work at. He was really good-looking black man, and he had long dreads down to his waist. Women would sometimes touch his hair without asking, and he'd get upset that strange women were touching him without permission.

There was also this middle-aged woman who would come in all the time and make sexual comments at/about him. (He was in his mid- to late-20s, for reference). When we'd see her coming, he'd go hide in the back, and I'd pretend he wasn't there until she left.

Once this same lady made eye contact with him (from outside, through the window), and licked the glass, then walked away. He went, "ew," and we talked about how creepy she was for a while.

There was a also creepy man who'd come in and make sexual comments about me, and my coworker would handle it for me while I hid in the back and pretended not to be there. We had a good system going.
