Yup! I once met a tall broad Viking looking guy on OLD, we video chatted and stuff before the date, but didn't use microphones to actually talk. When I got to the date this giant had a goddamn Micky Mouse voice that nearly made me fall out of my chair.

I haven’t met up with anyone but current SO on OLD but have been on blind dates set up by friends. They said “he’ll be perfect for you!” blah blah blah he was a skinny jewish guy. Way back in my brief internet dating days, two men lied about their ages initially.

A few others who were much fatter IRL than in their dating profiles.

A guy I dated for a year or so in my early twenties was actually gay and banging our neighborhood bartender.

I mean, I was pissed at the time but it wasn't some huge revelation. Men lie. Some quite convincingly.

I have met a guy in his thirties, and he seems great on paper. He’s into sports, is well-educated and works in a professional field. In his dating file, he mentioned that he is 5’7. While that’s not very tall, that’s around my height and I’m fine with that.

But when I arrived. He walked in, and I had no problem looking at the top of his hand. Basically, there is no way he is 5’7. And he lied about his height.

Yes! A year ago I went on a tinder date, we had organized to cook a meal together and when I arrived he was probably 20kg (like 50 pounds) heavier then his pics.

I was shocked but didn’t know how to bring it up so didn’t say anything. We made dinner and then I excused myself and went home. He was a nice guy and I could tell that a few years earlier he would’ve been very attractive and exactly my type...kind of a shame really.

He continued to message me for several weeks afterwards and I half heartedly replied for a while before I eventually stopped responding altogether. I wonder if he ever realized why...

Not hat fished but boy have I been fat fished and age fished. The worst was this guy who I estimated to be 60+ lbs and close to 20 years older than his pics. He was adamant about me sending him new pics of myself for verification, and continued using old pics of himself in kind. When he showed up he was layered very well including wearing a scarf and ball cap that he wouldn’t take off until we went back to my place. And when he took off those layers, I unapologetically kicked him out. He was pretty shocked, but I was pretty pissed off so I didn’t care.

Ya I got catfished. By an OLD MAN.. but he didn't sound very old. He called me by accident but we got to talking on the phone anyway. I caught on pretty quick after he sent me a picture that looked like he took a pic of a pic on a flip phone. I confronted him, he told me he was in his 80's. I rejected the shit outta him, and he unfortunately took it very bad. He used to call me from an unknown number, so I couldn't block him, and whenever I picked up he'd be breathing heavy like he was jacking off. He was doing that for about a month. He eventually stopped.

Did it change my attitude? Hell yeah. Dude was grandpa age. Hence why I told him to fuck off for lying. I told him my age (I was 19 at the time). I got immediately grossed out.

Yea I've met men in person who were so unattractive but on our first date and in their profile (I couldn't ditch them, so I suffered through the date), described themselves as attractive. I'm always shocked beyond belief. Feel like they don't have a mirror or something
