How to be pleasant.

Engage with me in an honest and positive manner:

-No covert contracts.

-Don't put words in my mouth. If I didn't say it, then I didn't mean it.

-Don't put toughts in my head. If my motives are not clear, ask, don't assume.

-Show affection in a way that is actually recieved (see 5 love languages)

-Give the benefit of the doubt. Don't assume malice where it could be error. Don't assume a negative long term pattern of behavior when it could be a fluke or isolated incident.

-Support in public. Critique in private.

-When things go south either help or shut up and get out of the way while I solve the shit in question. If you don't know how to help then just say "I know you got this" and GTFO

-When a mistake is corrected: Forgive

In a healthy relationship your partner does not provide you with everything you need. There are some social needs that I can only get through other friends or activities that don't involve my partner.

-Don't get in the way of that.

All of the previous points are in constant negotiation, becoming an asshole and acting in a way that does not benefit my partner is not the point of any of this.

I don't like "pleasant". I like feminine. This means she will be fun sometimes, challenging other times, radiate impossible beauty at times, do things I could never think of in a million years like wearing striped gloves when it's cold out etc. She can be pleasant sometimes but only as part of a larger package. Pleasant all the time is distinctly unpleasant. And fake anyhow.

that's a rigged question or something though because like, each woman is different, and what is pleasing about one is offputting about another. Consistency then I suppose is the only universally pleasing trait.

Pleasant is really simple. Don't be a bitch. Support your man when he's down. Obviously he should support *you* but that's not today's topic. Life is hard, sometimes it's really hard. Coming home to someone who supports you and cares about your needs is important. Someone who ignores that shit and makes it always about them, or decides the moment you aren't 100% a winner you're worthless, is not pleasant or supportive.

Traditional in this context mostly refers to a homemaker wife who cooks and cleans and manages the household. So instead of working she's taking care of that front and this kind of dovetails naturally into being supportive. Obviously in todays economy that's not always viable though.

Submissive, feminine, pleasant and traditional are roughly the same thing.
