You almost certainly won’t want to hear this but it’s the truth so it should be said: get into therapy. A therapist can help you get objective feedback about yourself, about your behaviors, about your thoughts about yourself, and about what you can do to improve all of that, and will help you do so. Cognitive behavioral therapy is probably a good start lacking other information about you.

No it's not looks, I have crushed hard on guys who were overweight or short or both, but they were also funny, smart and charming.

Social competence is key way more than looks, ime. A handsome face wears off pretty quickly if the guy is tiresome. A guy who makes you laugh, who you can connect to on a more personal level can become the most beautiful person in your eyes even if he's not stunning right off the bat.

Yeah, I've been there, emotionally. I just (less than an hour ago) had an argument with my roommate about how the fact that they used the kitchen while I was trying to cook mean that I was fat and undeserving of food. A few conversations with my boyfriend and roommates later and I now realize that just because I had weird expectations of others, doesn't mean they had those same expectations of me. I was the one in the wrong, and the things I thought they meant had nothing at all to do with what was actually true. Point is, just because you feel like the statement you made about dating is true, doesn't mean it is, and I have learned firsthand how wrong we can be despite how right we feel.

Stop the self-pity and learn to look outward. Try to make real connections. Enter with empathy and a genuine desire to connect rather than an end goal. Don’t strategize and don't assume you know someone's intentions.

I’m not attractive. I’ve had people insult me, throw me away, even fuck me as a joke. It hurts a lot. But when I date someone, I go into it believing they’re a good person deserving of my respect and attention.

The only thing you can do is let yourself be vulnerable and kind. See others as fully human, not stereotypes or objects or goals. That’s where the real shit comes from.

But also, I believe you need more from life than romance right now, man. You seem extremely depressed and angry. Shitty dates can’t be the only cause. Get some joy from other places and let this go until you feel more at peace. That’s my very subjective advice.

Sweetie, women don’t care about looks nearly as much as men do. They care about status, personality, and competence. But if you’ve really tried 100 times and got nothing than yeah, it’s not for you and that’s ok. At least you’ve been on a date. You’re also unpleasant and probably convey that irl.

I’ve seem plenty of hot guys on dating profile but when I read their profile and see how nasty they are I block. Beauty is a virtue inside and out.
