That gender is a biological, static, and immutable value assigned to people at birth. Society's indulgence of the concept of "gender identity" is another reinforcement of this ridiculous special snowflake mentality we see everywhere.

If you are a man that 'feels' like a woman, you're most likely homosexual in that you feel attracted to men. Or you have a disorder called gender dysphoria. This doesn't make you an actual woman, and neither do breast implants or castrations.

Western societies indulge people in doing this, and it creates actual problems for society. When I was in college (~8000 students) we had 3 students who were "transgendered" in that they had all had some degree / number of sex change surgeries.

They 'felt unsafe' using the men's bathrooms and locker rooms, and women were uncomfortable having them use theirs. So they demanded the school refit all existing dorms and lecture halls with additional bathrooms for trans people.

The school refused to reallocate the some $20 million that was supposed to fund academic and athletic programs ( for the other ~7997 students) to divert it to building special bathrooms especially for castrated men with breast implants. So the trans people filed a discrimination lawsuit.

Ibi-Pippi's point is that legally validating people's wishes that reality ought to match whatever they dream up in their imagination is a ludicrous and dangerous position for a states' government to take.

I say through extensive psychological observation.

I've considered becoming a shill radical feminist, garnering a following with all the bullshit rhetoric I could conjure up (years of creative/persuasive writing experience would help) and then flipping it over, dumping comprehensive rebuttals of everything I had said right down on them and explicitly exposing my strategy of trying to be as fucking ridiculous and nonsensical as possible. I don't think it'd have the same effect as what he's doing, but still, part of me (that I think has a twinge of anger phase left) thinks it'd be useful. In this, the documentarian interviews Philip Skau, a biologist who says that homosexuality is an "evolutionary paradox".

That is, homosexuality could not be an inherited condition because homosexuals generally to not reproduce-- the don't pass on the gay gene. Nor is it a mutation, as mutants are rare. Gay people of both genders are increase as liberalism in society increases.

While some folks may want to claim that gayness is genetic or a mutation, note that everyone has the capacity to be gay. Some folks just get into it, perhaps due to mental disorder, experimentation, or seduction/coercion.

I don't believe gayness has anything to do with genetics, I think it is more a cultural thing. Look at Ancient Greece FFS. It is nurture, not nature.

The whole premise of homosexuality being an evolutionary paradox is the case example of armchair scientists trying to grapple with science. Evolution is no where close to a perfecting event, it is a survival event. Whales still have hip bones, plants are largely green and not black, etc. The species that survive and reproduce are the ones that pass of their genes and not the dead ones. Note, there are two important parts, SURVIVE and REPRODUCE. So long as homosexuality provides an increase rate in overall survival, which allows for others to reproduce more, it will be selected for. If you want some actual scientific paradoxes look at the C-value paradox or the G-value paradox.

Homosexuality is increasingly thought to be part of epigenetics. Meaning there is not a 'gay gene' or 'gay gene family.' Epigenetics is the control of the way that genes are read. This can be transfered from parents to offspring without either parent being homosexual. It can also explain why the rates of 'mutations' are so high because epigenetic mutation are much more common than DNA sequence level mutations.

The reason that you tend to see more gay people in more liberal places is because they tend to not have to fear being oppressed for being gay. A homosexual in Uganda, where it is punishable by death, is not going to be very vocal about their sexuality. A homosexual in Alabama is not going to be very vocal about their sexuality because they have to fear for their job/social standing. You simply have cause and effect mixed up.

Regardless of the nature/nurture debate in homosexuality, society broadly does not have the right to discriminate against people based on sexual status or trans status. Their personal lifestyle decisions have no impact on anyone around them and as a result should not be punished by society. Advocates of absurd SJ claims are a separate group from the average LGBT person.

Q1. If you take all of your DNA and list them as ATCG (if you need me to explain this part I can) it creates a list that is known as the genome. This human genome project was the first major attempt to find the genome of a human. Most people expected humans to have one of the longest DNA sequences with the most genes. We are no where close to the longest sequences or most genes. For example, there are bacteria and trees that have longer genomes and more genes. This means that the length nor the number of genes explains complexity. C-value paradox is the length paradox and G-value paradox is the gene number paradox.

The reason that homosexuality is not a paradox is because we have at least a possible candidate reason why it still exists. Even if some scientists do not believe that it is based on increased survival, it is at a reason. We have no real good explanations for C or G.

Evolution is not about perfection. Very few living things have the greatest possible solution to a selective pressure they are experiencing, e.g. obtaining food. As you specialize to a single thing, you tend to trade this off by being worse at other things, e.g. hawks can fly very fast but only in short burst. Thus, to survival long enough to mate, a lot of different factors are at play with regards to creating shelter, preventing predation, obtaining food, etc. If homosexuals themselves did not reproduce, but increased all survival factors, there relatives would have a higher chance of reproducing. This is how homosexuality could be selected for, by being a trait that is expressed only sometimes in a population.

Q2. In the ATCGs of the DNA, the cytosine (C; a different C then used in Q1) can undergo what is known as methylation. Basically, the cytosine can stop being read. Cytosine and glycine (G; a different G then used in Q1) are frequently found dis-proportionally in areas that are known as promoter. A part of a gene that controls the expression of the gene. The epigenetics is the study of the methylation patterns, the rate of cytosine being turned on/off. These methylation patterns are passed on from mother to child, even grandparent to grandchild. How far these patterns can travel down human genetic lines is unknown because we simply have not had long enough to do experiments.

Methylation patterns is an interesting thing because it is in part controlled by the environment and in part controlled by genetic factors. For example, women that experimented famine or long periods of low access to food have a very different methylated pattern around fat storage gene regulation regions. However, the parts of the brain that control sexuality are determined while in the womb. It may be in part nature and in part nurture but not at the level of the individual who is homosexual, but their mother.

lol really? what is a society made up of? a society can be viewed as a self-correcting being, when something goes wrong with part of it, it's the society's function to correct that part. Think of a cell, when part of it is starting to malfunction (as defined by the main objective of the cell), it must regulate and stop the defective part. Failure to do so can spread the malfunction and/or damage the rest of cell, resulting in it's destruction.

That's what we're talking about here, and why one-liners like "nobody should care what someone does" make no sense.

Using just your logic alone, I would argue that neither the obese nor homosexuality should experience any societal pressure to change. Someones very existence is not a sufficient reason to impose a societal pressure on them. Even if some people don't like them, in fact that is more reason to not impose a pressure.

The reason that we can impose a societal pressure on the obese but not homosexuals is two fold, ability to change and health reasons. It is possible for an obese person to change their body from obese to a low fat body. It is not possible for a homosexual to stop being homosexual. Further, being obese increased a myriad of health related problems, while homosexuality increases no physical health problems. Yes, some mental health problems increase in homosexuals, but as a result of social pressures like parental abandonment and bullying.

I believe that the rate of born homosexuals in the same in San Fransisco and Amarillo. However, many people move towards what they view as acceptable communities. Also, people are most likely to be more expressive in what they consider more accepting communities. The only reason that you know that someone is homosexual is if they tell you. A standard guy/women on the street just walking by is not going to tell you that they are homosexual. Many people also never admit it fully to themselves. If you are always only told that it is one man and one woman the sexual feeling you feel about your own gender will be seen not as sexual based but something else.

The reason that we do not define homosexuality or trans-sexuality as disease is that neither, of themselves, have negative physical or mental health consequences. Two gay men in a relationship have equal chances of the relationship being health for them as a straight equivalent does. A trans-sexual that was born a man that wants to be addressed as a women has no negative effect on those around them. An individuals very existence does not mean negative consequences to themselves or those around them. However, on the level of society there are chances. The definition of marriage is being challenged. Access to public restrooms is being challenged. I think these are interesting conversations that should be address maturely. Beginning a conversation by calling one side, diseased, is not an effective method.

I am copying and pasting the response I told someone else.
The whole premise of homosexuality being an evolutionary paradox is the case example of armchair scientists trying to grapple with science. Evolution is no where close to a perfecting event, it is a survival event. Whales still have hip bones, plants are largely green and not black, etc. The species that survive and reproduce are the ones that pass of their genes and not the dead ones. Note, there are two important parts, SURVIVE and REPRODUCE. So long as homosexuality provides an increase rate in overall survival, which allows for others to reproduce more, it will be selected for.

Evolution is not about perfection. Very few living things have the greatest possible solution to a selective pressure they are experiencing, e.g. obtaining food. As you specialize to a single thing, you tend to trade this off by being worse at other things, e.g. hawks can fly very fast but only in short burst. Thus, to survival long enough to mate, a lot of different factors are at play with regards to creating shelter, preventing predation, obtaining food, etc. If homosexuals themselves did not reproduce, but increased all survival factors, there relatives would have a higher chance of reproducing. This is how homosexuality could be selected for, by being a trait that is expressed only sometimes in a population

Homosexuality is increasingly thought to be part of epigenetics. Meaning there is not a 'gay gene' or 'gay gene family.' Epigenetics is the control of the way that genes are read. This can be transfered from parents to offspring without either parent being homosexual. It can also explain why the rates of 'mutations' are so high because epigenetic mutation are much more common than DNA sequence level mutations.

I'm guilty as a lot of people are here in that I once believed it was an SJW thing/something latched upon by the left for political points. While both may be true, there are absolutely legitimate people who are, for all intents and purposes, born into the wrong body.

It's horrifying to imagine being faced with the choice of going through life trying to conform to a gender you aren't, or having to have multiple surgeries and years of hormone and psychiatric treatments -- all to (in many cases) be hardly passable as the gender you identify with. It's not a big surprise the suicide rate for these individuals is so high.

I highly recommend checking out Louis Theroux's documentary called "Transgender Kids." It's really fascinating to see and hear the stories of some of these cases first hand, before you pass judgment.

It's a great example of first-world problems taken to the extreme.

As societies, they've worked really hard and solved most of the basic problems that occupied people throughout history - they have a great standard of living, almost no real poverty, high automation, health care, transportation, everybody has housing and rights and money, etc.

So now what, what to do with all that free time you used to spend on survival and menial tasks? Start inventing bullshit just to stay active and have a reason to bitch and moan. Invite in millions of dirt-poor religious fanatics to play grand socialist fantasy experiments with the wealth you inherited.

Material comfort is a prerequisite for all the whackjob leftist/SJW stuff - people don't have time to screech about being "triggered" by clapping or organizing sit-ins over the word "he" if they're worried about finding their next meal.
