I think it's great you have become aware of your rationalization. Every time you think "What is going on in HIS head, why would he do this" is a step forward.

However, I personally feel that once a relationship has reached this stage it cannot be salvaged for marriage. Even if you can start getting along, you guys will always have this dark spot that will come up whenever you fight or argue. And it will haunt you.

I would recommend trying again with a new alpha and a promise to keep vigilant for the hamster.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 13 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Fuck this hurts and I don't wont that to be true but the whole reason for posting was for some harsh truth. Thank you.

[–]gprime3124 points5 points6 points 13 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Tell him what you told us.

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points0 points 13 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Rough. He's a bit on the fragile side. He's an introvert (i'm and extrovert) and I have to be careful with what I say to him.

[–]gprime3120 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, it's probably best if you leave out the infidelity.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Right? Just tell him I'm fuckd and move on. No need to drag him through shit.

[–]gprime3120 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Tell him you miss the man he used to be. Then try to fuck him. If he refuses, dump him. You're only hurting him more by getting married if you don't truly love him.

[–]CokedUpArmenian11 points12 points13 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

First and foremost, I think everyone appreciates your very blunt honesty, and we recognize being so honest is likely to cause you quite a bit of mental distress/depression; so thanks for putting yourself out there like this.

My question is: have I beta'd my man with my feelings and emotions long enough to never get back the man I fell in love with? What could I do to remind him he is alpha ? (he is) How can I give him the red pill again?

It would take a long time to 'fix' him so to speak, since he's only got you as feedback. Other parts of his social life may not like him trying to re-become an alpha male; so not really an easy endeavor to pursue. All you can do is reinforce his good behavior and try not to give him shit tests when he actually attempts to be more masculine.

The problem therein, even if he became pussy slayer 2.0, since you been cheating on him, you will always see him as lower value. You've de-pair bonded from him, oxytocin is the main relationship building block, and that has been in effect against him now.

Leave a perfect beta provider when she is well able to fuck alpha cock on the side?

not gonna happen

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points0 points 13 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

Would you leave that situation?

[–]Endorsed Contributor303030303030302 points3 points4 points 13 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

I understand why you wont. It's a perfect thing for a woman, a beta provider at home for ego cuddling and alpha cock on a side that you are really attracted to. This is very clear for every man in this sub and this is why we take so much hate from the ladies. You want us stupid and thinking movie like romance/family picture which doesn't exist.

I do hope he gets smarter on day. Until then, abuse his stupidity and good heart. I know it's to good to give it up. It's a free ride.

[–]TypicalBetaNeckbeard0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

He could very aware of the situation, after all he's getting to fuck this whore whenever he wants.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 13 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I have no hate for any of you. I'm trying to figure out if my dude wants to be beta or if I'm pushing him into that roll. I thought you all would accept and give me genuine advice but I'm kind if being slaughtered here. I know women are fucked. I am accepting and apologizing for that and asking for help with dirty hands held out basically on my knees asking for help. I don't understand how men work. Fuck I don't ever know how women work, I'm basically begging for help and I'm getting punched in the liver.

[–]Endorsed Contributor303030303030302 points3 points4 points 13 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

In my opinion it's to late. It sounds like you cheated on him many times.

See, you are, what we call here, an alpha widow. Once a woman went alpha road it's over for betas. A beta, no matter how kind and loving, will never get your pussy in the same state as they did. If you stopped cheating over time you will idealize them even more than they were in reality.

Buy him a copy of "Married man sex life primer" and tell him to fucking read it. Be clear of what you want but truthfully, imo you are so far gone it won't make much difference. Now you know you can cheat and keep him, eat your cake and still have it. Why stop? You will rationalize yourself long enough to justify keeping doing it. If you want to do him a favor don't marry him but I know you won't do that. Divorce settlement is to tempting.

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points0 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Thank you for telling me exactly how it is. I didn't post to be woman-hated on. I bared my fucking soul and didn't realize that the TRP were fuckin piranhas

[–]Furthur-1 points0 points1 point 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

spins round and round.

[–]iseeyou131257 points58 points59 points 13 years ago (52 children) | Copy Link

This is female solipsism at its finest. It's his fault he isn't meeting your needs. He's the reason why you're a cheating whore.

Your entire post mentions nothings of his thoughts, feelings, emotions, aspirations but rather what you need to mold him into so you will stop cheating. And then you claim to be in a place of self loathing and depression? Crocodile tears don't work on this subreddit.

The relationship is dead, nothing can salvage it. If the two of you get married it will be a disaster.

Your problem is that you are very near, or possible past the wall, and father time takes no prisoners. Those men who you are cheating with now aren't going to want to know you in less than a decade.

Good luck.

[–][deleted] 12 points13 points14 points 13 years ago* (27 children) | Copy Link

To be fair, if the man completely changes his behavior and stops doing everything that made him attractive to her in the first place, then it kind of is his fault.

Lots of people, men and women, get lazy once they've "settled down". Women get fat and cut their hair, men stop taking care of themselves and slowly lose their frame by allowing themselves to be browbeaten into betas.

As much as cheating is despicable, the redpill acknowledges that it most likely will happen if a woman gets fat and unattractive or if a man slips into a weak, beta frame.

Even if the woman chooses not to cheat, she will be looking for a new branch to swing to very shortly. OP's relationship is salvageable, but it will take alot of work from her to encourage him to change, and of course he can never find out about the cheating.

[–]toysjoe9 points10 points11 points 13 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

No. She should've told him that she's fed up with how beta he is and if he doesn't change, she will leave him and sleep with alphas.

But she didn't (or maybe she did, but there was no mention of it so I'm assuming she didn't). She just goes and sleeps around.

That's like beating a child who didn't know better rather than telling the kid what he did wrong first. The kid's wrong but what you did isn't exactly right.

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points11 points 13 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link

I agree that what she did was wrong.

But I also think that the red pill teaches us that women are not inclined to tell men what they are doing wrong and how to fix it.

It's the same reason they don't tell men how to successfully approach them. They feel like if they have to give you all the answers, you aren't worth getting to know in the first place.

They just can't feel attraction to men they have to give all the answers to.

[–]Modredpillschool0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

They just can't feel attraction to men they have to give all the answers to.

Bingo.

[–]alexkitsune-1 points0 points1 point 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Very, very true.

[–]elevul3 points4 points5 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

If that happens, you don't cheat on your partner, you talk to him to see if the problem is solvable, and cut the relationship if it's not...

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

toysjoe already said the same thing and I addressed it here

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 13 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

This is the shit that made me post here, I thought I "wasn't like that." I had all the excuses why I cheated but after reading TRP shit I realized, I'm just like every other woman that gets bored with their man. Starts out alpha then nests, gives up, stops fucking me, stops jerking off even. Seven years is a long time to stay attracted to someone, I realize, I'm not foolish (I am just not when it comes to this particular subject) and I don't know how to reignite his alpha. I fuck down usually, which isn't common in TRP world, I don't want a diff man, or to trade up, I want my man of seven years to balls up and reclaim what is rightfully his. Me.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 13 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link

I see. There are resources on how to do just that. Re-post in the redpillwomen and I'm sure they can direct you to it.

Edit: Here's one I found on a quick search.

http://marriedmansexlife.com/2013/02/how-to-fair-warning-a-husband-that-doesnt-listen-before-things-are-too-late-to-fix/

[–]Modredpillschool1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Confirmed, Athol Kay is the only resource for sinking ships.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Thank you

[–]avonv3 points4 points5 points 13 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

So you want him to after seven years man up and reclaim what is rightfully his? How about accepting the glaring evidence that he lost interest in you. Regardless of him becoming a beta, he made the assessment at some point, whether it was months, or years ago, that you weren't really worth fighting for. His actions are completely consistent with that of a guy who stopped caring about his relationship and let himself go.

[–][deleted] -4 points-3 points-2 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's all I wanted to know. I didn't need to be fucking butchered. In sorry I'm a woman posting something in your boy's club. I just wanted honesty.

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points0 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Jesus fuck thats all I want to know, is he over it and trying to just "keep it it together"?,

[+][deleted] -7 points-6 points-5 points 13 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Fuck me, this is def possible, I said from the beginning that this is my fault, I know I'm tanking this. I thought if I came to to TRP I could have some sound advice from men who knew what's up, I didn't expect to get fucking slaughtered. I'm admitting I'm in the wrong and that most women are, but I'm still getting BBQ'd. The red pill is like a fucking enema that is forced up the ass. I'm trying to swallow it, I'm trying to become a better woman, a better human but it seems like no one wants me here.

Don't fix the problem, just bitch about it with the buddies.

[–]itsmehobnob0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I guess you'd rather us coddle you?

[–]Netlinfo0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's hilarious to see how you feel entitled to people solving your problem and when you receive criticism you get angry at the group. There's a proverb that says "t"he one who can't reach the grape will pretend it's sour", it pretty much summarises what happened here.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

[–]iseeyou13123 points4 points5 points 13 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

To be fair, if the man completely changes his behavior and stops doing everything that made him attractive to her in the first place, then it kind of is his fault.

The OP is awfully vague about those details (other than lack of sex) and I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if this was a troll thread.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 13 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Not a troll. I'm in a serious crisis but r/relationships, r/deadbedrooms, give bullshit advice. Always advising to break up and the man is in the wrong. I came here to be honest and say, I'm in the wrong an that I don't know what to do to fix my relationship.

But I understand you not trusting my intentions. I thought if I was 100% honest ppl would respect and give me advice. But I understand that you've probably been fuckd over by women and have been on the webs long enough to smell shit even if my story is true.

[–]TRP VanguardYouDislikeMyOpinion2 points3 points4 points 13 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I highly doubt that /r/relationships and /r/deadbedrooms told you that the man is in the wrong for you cheating.

[–]Fukitol131 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Usually people leave out that part when they post on those subs.

[–]TRP VanguardYouDislikeMyOpinion3 points4 points5 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

IMHO, they leave out about 80-90% of relevant information.

[–]wrongful_ignorance0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Not everything has a solution. You aren't always in control at the best of times, let alone once a situation goes down a certain path, which is why we advocate letting go/not being attached, so no one can shackle you into submission.

If there is any hope of you two together in some sort of a relationship you have to give him the information to later piece together. You break up with him - tell him everything you've done but not why, make sure he see's you logged in and participating in /r/RedPillWomen... wait for a large amount of time for him to realize his complacency and only show interest in him when it is truthful.

Anything else will result in him or you trying things you know won't work because they are beta inducing.

[–]itsmehobnob0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

So you don't get the advice you want and you blame it on us because we've been "fucked over by women." Wow, you're a real treat.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's possible, but she is following up with some details so it could be legit.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Good god, just count the number of times she uses the word "I" in that post

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I so appreciate your honesty. I knew TRP would give me truth.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (21 children) | Copy Link

Also, I didn't mean to say or hamster my logic into saying that my cheating is his fault. I'm a slut. That's common knowledge to me, and the men i fuck. My question was if I can help my bf become alpha again or if I'm too far gone. Thank you for honesty but I do have the ability to reason and understand logic.

Have I fucked up too badly with my feminist entitlement bullshit or am I beyond able to repair this? With diligence and hard work to not cheat and be a slut anymore?

Edit for clarity.

[–]iseeyou13124 points5 points6 points 13 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

I think you are going to need to be more specific. How was he "alpha" to begin with? The picture you have painted of him is a computer programming pothead who is also extremely lazy and fat. Where was the initial attraction?

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 13 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

He was not a fat programmer when I met him. He was crazy ambitious to further himself in his career, he was fit, he's a city boy and I'm a country girl and he was always down to Ty anything (very alpha in my mind) we shot guns, caught fish camping, always made our plans, ordered food for me (I never ate fish before I met him but I'm always down to try new things) he actually fell in love with me bc I was always willing to try new things; sex, food, adventures ect and now he just works. He is severely depressed but won't seek help, I think that's some alpha shit, I'm batshit crazy on accident. I was sexually abused for 10 years, my brother, and I think my BF always wanted to just help and be the "nice guy" not realizing that my abuse was always in the "nice way."

We used to get super freaky but now he loves me and doesn't want to slap me in the face. Even tho that's the only thing that turns me on. And yes I've talked to him about it.

[–]iseeyou13121 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

The red pill is about self improvement, not so much about improving others. Beyond that it is about betas mimicking the behavioural traits of alphas. Once married and complacency begins, a lot of red pillers/PUAs revert back to their beta selves, and divorce ensures. I don't really think you can improve him through the red pill. So... let's concentrate on self improvement.

I've never met a motivated pothead, that has to be the first thing to go. That will also probably help with weight loss.

I've got no idea what the steps are with regards to recovering from depression, that's something for you to research. Have you ever asked him what's wrong? That might be a starting point.

Other than that, it seems as if you got bored after the honeymoon period of the relationship. Are you sure long-term monogamy is something for you?

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm not sure that monogamy is for me. Thank you for your honesty

[–]chiffonade-0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

you're a country girl but never ate fish?

wut

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

It really sounds like your BF has issues. That doesn't make cheating on him right, though.

It is extremely unlikely you are going to be able to change him. I think the best thing for you to do for both you and him is to leave. He needs a hard shock to make him re-evaluate where his life is going and will be too comfortable with you around. He won't have any motivation.

Your problem is that you too are too comfortable in the relationship. Like another poster said, biology is determining your unwillingness to leave. At 27 you are pretty close to the wall (but you aren't quite there yet). You nesting instinct is motivating you to stay in this situation because there is uncertainty that you will be able to secure another long term provider figure in the time you have left before the wall shows up. In evolution, a bad provider is better than none.

That isn't a good reason to stay. period. A relationship where you are cheating all the time will eventually crash, and since you are cheating it is mostly your fault. It is better to get out now and try for someone else with all of your effort (don't be needy though) than dilly dally around until you are past your expiration date and things will be much harder.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

This may sound like bullshit to TRP ppl, I realize this and I'm not bitter or angry towards anyone giving me advice. That being said, I have never, "needed" anyone. I moved out the day after I turned 17, had to drop out of HS (I later got my GED and went on to get an AA) but I held two jobs (low level... I was only 17-19) for several years. I worked my way up in a field I didn't really give a shit about but did bc I needed to take care of myself. I don't have a trust fund or a daddy to take of me, the nesting shit never really took hold of me.

I worked my ass off for 12 hours a day for three years so I could pay rent, then I worked my way up the office ladder bc I was smart and was picked out of the crowd, I've always paid my own way, lived alone paying my own rent in a one bedroom at 19, I went back to school eventually and have always taken care of myself.

I'm not the average female looking for support and babies. I've worked my fucking ass off to support myself and my habits (beer mostly) and have never had parent or man to help me.

This may make me seem masculine, I cut my own hair, shopped at value village, never got my nails done, but I've worked to be comfortable and that's one reason my man fell in love with me.

I have never been a damsel in distress.

I only say this so those who may be thinking I'm a hamster social climber, waiting for the better alpha to come along, know they're wrong. Nothing has been has been handed to me. I went to labor ready and did manual labor just like any other man that didn't have parents to give them shit. I've never owned a car. I'm 27.

I'm just a terrible person when it comes to relationships. I have a male mentality, I want to fuck, a lot, and have a harem at home to go to, to choose from.

Just bc I'm female, does that make me incapable or not justified in my alpha-ness?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Companionship isn't really compatable with a harem. For men sometimes that sort of works out, but not really a lot of times. For women it is even less possible, for evolutionary reasons. Men can't really accept that because in the evolutionary sense it meant providing for other men's children. This is the psychology your partner takes to the table. It is a frame of mind he (and all men) inherited and can't be altered.

We are warning you that the wall is coming. Women can't fuck anyone they want until they retire like men can. When you hit the wall, very few men will want you, maybe none. This is an unfortunate consequence of biology and there is nothing you can do about it. If you deny this reality, you are going to have a bad time. Like so many women do.

What will ultimately lead to your highest happiness level over the entire course of your life is a monogamous (to ensure his devotion to you) relationship with a man with a high libido (unlike your current guy). You don't have much time to secure this. The longer you delay, the less likely you are going to get it. And if you think you can ride the cock carresel until you are old you are in for a bad time. When you are old men won't fuck you. You will try and try and get nothing. You will regret getting yourself into that situation. Women need to secure some sort of long term commitment before they hit the wall. It is a must. They will be miserable if they don't. That means you will have to make sacrifices. It isn't all about you. You will have to give up the caresel and be a devoted gf. If you aren't willing to make that sacrifice, then you deserve to end up a spinster.

To be honest it just sounds like he is depressed, and you are "trying to make him alpha" because you know none of those guys you're cheating with would ever give you commitment. It's very predictable.

Yes, it's hopeless, you are not another teenager who's made a bad choice, a slut is who you are. Have fun while it lasts though, won't be too long.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 13 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

I'm well aware it won't last, like I said I don't try to "up fuck". I'm not looking to improve my situation, financially or being impregnated. I just want to get fucked. By my best friend. I think he's depressed, as well. I don't know how to fix it tho.

[–]Kronos69486 points7 points8 points 13 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Ever think maybe he knows deep down that you're fucking around and there's nothing he could do, and that's what's making him depressed? Chances are, you're the cause of his depression.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I hope not but that could def be possible. Ty for being honest.

[–]RememberThisPassword1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

What a creepy sentiment.

You are not entitled to sex.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Are you? Entitled to sex?

[–]Noink1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

You're not entitled to any particular person having sex with you. But unless you're asexual, your primary relationship bring sexless just won't work. Trying to figure out how to get this particular directionless guy who lost interest years ago to want you again could be construed as vaguely creepy - like, imagine some guy you brushed off at a club posted on some subreddit asking for advice on how to change this girl's mind about hooking up with him.. It's not the same situation since you were once in a real intimate relationship with your fiancé, but the fundamental foolishness of feeling entitled to a particular person is the same.

Edit: Fuckin' autocorrect, how did you get "I tomato" out of "intimate"?

[–]spookypen2 points3 points4 points 13 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Here's the problem I see, if it was me.

He's probably associated his beta feelings with you, that is if things are the way you stated in your OP. Let's say he changes his tune and becomes Alpha again, he's probably going to do exactly what you did because why would he want to waste his new found confidence on someone who has made him feel insecure and beta in the first place?

Chances are if he regains his confidence in any way you're getting dumped for a fresh start and a new life, and if he stays with you he's either still being beta or you muster up and execute the biggest apology in history and he feels he can trust you again, but I wouldn't count on that. I think in the end you also sabotaged yourself with him.

[–]TRP VanguardYouDislikeMyOpinion2 points3 points4 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Have I fucked up too badly with my feminist entitlement bullshit or am I beyond able to repair this? With diligence and hard work to not cheat and be a slut anymore?

If you're talking about your personality and character, I'm not an expert, but it will take a complete restructuring of the way your brain works to completely quit the female bullshit. You're going to have to change the way you think, what things you like, the way you think about thinking. You will have to start paying MASSIVE attention to your primitive instincts, and you will need to learn to control, modify, and influence them to excel in this non-caveman world.

To me, you are already a lost cause. I'm not sure of the "standards" other TRPers have, but you're not as good as someone that is 22 and hasn't fucked up like you have.

I'm not here to tell you nice things or make you feel better. You knew what was coming at you when you came here.

[–]Modredpillschool5 points6 points7 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

The guys here are not wrong, but they are crude. The type of advice here you can expect are hard truths that require breaking yourself down and rebuilding from the ground up. You won't like this advice, but it's good.

Somebody else already suggested this, and I agree, head on over to /r/redpillwomen for some insight. They'll likely say the same things, but perhaps with more feminine finesse.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I appreciate the harshness of TRP and don't like the advice given by women trying who have, "swallowed the red pill." I think they bullshit their way to "understanding" an alpha's mindset. It's all very contrived but I do appreciate your advice. Thank you.

[–]_whistler6 points7 points8 points 13 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I'll address a few things. Most of what I'm going to say, you already know, but I'm saying it to reinforce that knowledge. First, from the original post.

I have been with my dude for 7 years and he has slowly become beta, which I am no longer attracted to. I have sex on the side...

I "love him" and he is def my best friend.

I fuck men bc I need it and my partner is too depressed to give it to me.

This is a very good description of the average modern male/female committed relationship. It's common. Less common is that you seem to be genuine in wanting to take steps to fix things between your man and yourself. Maybe you do want to fix this. Maybe you can. But.

You "love him". Doesn't matter. You love your parents, your siblings, your friends, your dog. You loved those shoes you saw in the window last week because they looked super cute. Love is an ambiguous word. You "love him". Ask yourself what that means. It's difficult to truly evaluate an emotion, but try. Is this "love" you speak of desire? Do you desire his company? Doesn't sound like it; who desires to be around a fat, depressed loser? Do you desire his cock? Doesn't sound like it; you desire cock in general, doesn't have to be his. Do you desire his social status, or his comforting embrace that makes you feels secure, or his wit, or his confident demeanor? Of course not. He's a loser. Nobody desires a loser. So. Back to seeking a definition of this "love" you have for him. If it isn't desire, what is it? Nurturing instinct? Companionable affection?

There are a lot of possibilities. In the interest of not posting an entire textbook's worth of analysis here, I'll go ahead and tell you what I think you mean when you say you "love him". You are used to being with him. He's familiar. He's inside your comfort zone. You have a psychological need to be in a relationship with another human being, and the fact that he has filled that need in the past allows you to use his presence - not him, but his mere presence in your life - to continue filling that need. Except it doesn't. That need is unfulfilled. And so instead, you try to fill it with strange cock.

I'm not mocking you. I don't judge you. My heart goes out to you, lackadaisicalWhore. Because you know all of this already. You know you're a slut. You know he's not the Alpha you need. And you're afraid.

Now I said at the beginning of my comment: maybe you can fix this. I meant that the two of you, together, have a faint possibility of making this work. Probably not forever, but maybe for enough time that both of you don't come out the other side more broken than when you went into it.

This next bit is for both of you. It probably won't help him, because he's not the one posting in TRP, seeking a way to improve himself and fix his relationship. Nevertheless, here it is.

He stopped having sex with me several years ago unless we are on drugs.

He is very depressed and overweight...

Stop all drug use. All of it. Immediately. If you are an addict, get into a program if that's what you need. I don't just mean any of the hard stuff you two use, I mean all of it. Cannabis. Alcohol. Tobacco. These things can be fine for healthy people, as an indulgence. Neither of you is healthy. Cut it out of your life, and do it now.

Exercise and proper nutrition. Starting now. You cannot be psychologically healthy if you are poisoning your body through an unhealthy lifestyle. He's depressed? No shit. He's a fat loser who uses drugs and has completely lost control of his masculinity. He can either keep committing slow suicide, or he can grab himself by the balls, get his body into primal masculine mode where it's supposed to be, and then maybe his mind will follow. You should do the same. Strengthen and nurture your body, and the chemicals running amok in your system will have a better chance of normalizing.

Some other things, from comment replies you've posted.

He was crazy ambitious to further himself in his career

He was fit

I'm just like every other woman that gets bored with their man

I came here to be honest and say, I'm in the wrong an that I don't know what to do to fix my relationship.

I didn't mean to say or hamster my logic into saying that my cheating is his fault.

You blame him. Of course you blame him. Don't tell yourself you don't. Intellectually, you recognize you are in the wrong, but you have to also recognize that he is just as much in the wrong as are you. Rationally, you are both fuck-ups. And so irrationally, emotionally, you blame him. Humans do that.

Be honest with yourself. Get in the habit of calling yourself on your bullshit. This is a good start, posting on TRP. Keeping doing it, keep seeking accountability outside your own head.

Once you can be honest with yourself, start being honest with him. Honesty leads to trust. Trust leads to intimacy. Intimacy leads to the only way you can actually stop whoring out over strange cock, and have the alpha partner you desire.

I hope this helps.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

This is all I wanted. What I needed. I don't need to break up with my perfectly good husband to be, I need to balls up and to be a better person instead of hanging on to branches in case this (my relationship) falls through.

All I wanted and needed (I may be affirming how ridiculously and emotionally based women are and honestly I don't care, I was asking to save my relationship and could give a shit about how I gnarly i may be nutshelling my own gender) I thank you for taking the time to be honest with me.

I don't know how many earnest questions from women you get, or respond to, but the nugs of truth you just hit me with are sufficient enough to give me a lot to think about.

I want to swallow that red fuckin pill and not be the butt of a joke forever, for myself and for my gender, but its so hard to get it down the throat (that's what she said).

[–]projectself2 points3 points4 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

There are only two types of women that cheat. 1) complete sluts 2) women who married loser men who are the cause of all their lifes problems.

I am going to guess which person the original poster sees when she looks in the mirror.

Your husband is not the cause of your misery, and likely you are not the cause of his. You both are codependant, and have each contributed to creating the relationship you have. If I had to guess, I would speculate he feels it is his job to make you happy, and is quite agreeable to whatever you want to do. I would guess that you are very critical and shameful of him in words and actions. You "love" him in the sense that he accepts you and loves you and provides for him, but that deeply you do not desire him or love or respect him.

After rejection after rejection his confidence has gone to zero. He believes you that he is the cause of your unhhappiness. He is not like you and does not know how to make his needs a priority. He wishes to make his needs small so that you will love him more because he is not a bother. t is a terrible strategy, but it's psychological and not his fault. When the strategy does not work, he tries even harder to be more supportive, be the good guy, do things right and just find that magic script that if he just gets it right and does the right things he will be loved.

That shit is a lie, it doesn't work that way but he doesnt understand that. His expectation that because he does xyz, he should get abc goes unfullfilled and he likely pushes you away when you try to get closer and clings to you when you pull away from him. It is a miserable life and miserable marriage.

If you love him, tell him you want a divorce. go to marriage counseling, get him some help for depression, be honest about being unfaithful. Work things out. Your marriage now is dead, bury it. You can begin a new relationship if both want it.

If you do not love him, tell him you want a divorce. Try to be kind to his already destroyed sense of self. But force him to open his eyes and find a new life. One with the love he craves but doesn't know how to get from you.

..I've diluted myself into thinking my BF is the problem, not me...I think I'm relatively intelligent,

If you can recognize that you can and have self-deceived, then yes you are intelligent. Congrats.

My question is: have I beta'd my man with my feelings and emotions long enough to never get back the man I fell in love with? What could I do to remind him he is alpha ? (he is) How can I give him the red pill again?

Just reading what you've written, I suspect your BF is likely straying, if not cheating himself. I think your relationship is done.

[–]Zer0nation2 points3 points4 points 13 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Fuck it, advice?

Take the red pill, and shove it down his throat.

He's chubby, overweight, jealous, etc etc etc? Encourage him to join a gym. You could be a bitch about it and issue an ultimatum: Work out or you're out. Sounds like he'd give it a try because he's too scared to lose you. Encourage him to go out with his friends. Go out to clubs together and show him off. Make him love himself and feel wanted again. Go on adventures together, just as long as you're both out of the house. Find time to do it.

And when he's feeling better about himself, admit that you cheated. You'll have the upperhand because you can just pull the shame card afterwards "oh, I did all of this for you because I'd rather stay with you than bail for some hotter, younger, more independent and exciting guy". You win.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Thank you. I try to help him out of his shell, I never immaculate him. I want to go out and show him off. I try to let him find himself, I encourage him to go out without me, with his single friends. I'm getting fucking murdered in this in for being honest and asking for advice. Am I a typical female? Do I just really not get it?

[–]Zer0nation1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

There's not much to get. A typical female would have bailed, kept cheating ( Which you're still probably do anyway, try not to ), or just continued blaming your husband for all the shit that goes wrong in your life until you both can't take it anymore.

You'd rather fix it. Who does that anymore? Typical be damned, do your best to help your husband.

[–]ar103080 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

You're getting murdered in this because you are already cheating on him. If you had come here prior to having sex with others and been pleading with help, everyone would be a bit more sympathetic.

If you're going to cheat, tell the man. That makes you the female equivalent of a "beta" by sneaking around his back like that. (wo)Man up, and tell it to his face. Don't be that sneaky whore that everyone hates.

Maybe you didn't change him into a "beta", maybe he was always one and in order for him to pick up women he needs to act "alpha", and therefore it gave the impression that it's who he is. Many shy or introverted men will break out of their shell to pick up women, and give an impression that they are a strong willed man who can "take charge", because they know that's what women want. So maybe you just thought he was something that he never was.

I'm admitting to being a complete hamster bitch and you still can't give me any advice? Sucks that TRP has come to that.

I know I'm wrong. How do I fix it? Do I move on or confess my wrong doings? Fuck you for not being able to see through the lies women have fed you and try to help one that is reaching out to a sub that seems legit.

I'm not YouTube commenting you. Do you have something to add to the conversation or are you just a jaded person who wants to complain without giving advice to a woman who is admitting the faults in the LTR and legitimately asking for advice?

[–]RememberThisPassword3 points4 points5 points 13 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

What makes you think being a complete hamster bitch is acceptable? Confess your wrong doings AND move on...

Give him a chance to find someone who REALLY gives a fuck about him. If you cared you would encourage him to re-alpha and be the man you need him to be. You don't care, so you go and get cock elsewhere...

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I'm afraid that honesty will hermit him more than he already is. I'm a lying bitch, I know this. But honesty when breaking up can just stunt his development even more. We will break up but I think telling him about all of my infidelities will just push him more into a corner than he already is.

[–]turnipslice2 points3 points4 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

So you think telling him the truth will hurt him more than dragging him along for the ride with you while you are sneaking around and fucking other men and lying to him? Trust me, tell him the fucking truth and move the fuck on. Don't keep saying "will he be extremely upset? i hope he doesn't become more "beta", and "I just don't want to hurt his feelings, so I won't tell him". Tell him you cheated. End of the fucking story. If he's okay with it, then go from there. But don't ask for relationship advice if you haven't even done the obvious step 1 of building and keeping a good relationship which is: Telling the truth. Tell the truth, be honest and caring. Don't sneak around on him and not tell him the truth. Also, go to your doctor to check for STD's, because your man doesn't deserve to be lied to and then infected with one of your diseases that came from some sleazeball.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Fuck. That hurt. But thank you.

[–]RememberThisPassword2 points3 points4 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

But not being honest you just waste more of his life; and stunt more opportunities for him to find a good woman who gives a fuck about him. I don't think you care as much as you say you do. EDIT: If anything, telling him about your infidelities will strengthen the resolve he will feel in the future when choosing a partner. You hear a woman say she once cheated; and you can easily say "This person isn't good for anything but sex"

I've checked your comment history and even though you tend to be harsh, I actually appreciate that. But you do give advice to ppl and sound advice at that. So why the animosity towards me? I'm being honest, real, contributing to a debate/converstaion but you're hating all over me. Why?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

To be honest, I don't know. I just thought that's what we should do. I'm sure he assumed he though that's what we "should" do, as well. He wants to lock it down so we aren't ducking other people.

We love each other, we're dead bedroom but care about each other deeply. We both thought that getting married is just the next step. It sounds naive and foolish when I write it... I'm just being honest.

You are not a good person, by any measure. You are selfish and you are cheating because you have problems, not because your man is beta. Do him a good one and dump him now, figure your shit out before inflict it on anyone else.

[–]TRP VanguardYouDislikeMyOpinion1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

First of all, this post reeks of fake to me. People don't usually talk like how OP is talking.

Second of all, if this story is true, OP has barely understood the bare minimum of what TRP is. From what I see, all OP knows is that her soon to be ex used to be less beta than he is now, and that she likes sex.

Third, OP keeps saying that the guy was alpha. I don't fucking buy it. A 34 year old male still dicking around with a whore for 7 years? I could understand if he got with her when he was 20, but he was 27 years old when he started dating her. Any of you who are reading this and are 27+ y.o. TRPers will know for a fact that no whore will be able to tie you down in a million years.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If you loved him you wouldn't sleep with other guys without telling him. You would do one or more of the following.

  1. Tell him you love him but are unhappy about the lack of sex.

  2. Express desire to be in an open relationship so that you can have someone fulfill your needs as he can't.

  3. Leave him.

[–]ar103087 points8 points9 points 13 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

When a man cheats in a relationship, the relationship is still salvageable, however when the women cheats it usually is not because how the female sex-drive works (see Athol Kay at Married Man Sex Life).

Expose your wanton cheating ways to him and let him end the relationship with sufficient anger that he maintains some self-respect. And you better give that ring back.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Why would you assume I would keep the ring? Of course I would give it back. Even though we paid for it together. We both saved from our paychecks, put the money into a joint account and bought the ring together when we could afford it. But I would never keep a symbol of love, given to me w the intention of marriage, it belongs to him if I break the wedding off.

[–]Fukitol130 points1 point2 points 13 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Nah,logically ,if you paid half, then you should keep half the cost should you sell as i see no point in making the dude keep a memento of his loss.your choice though.

Even though you're being attacked quite a bit for cheating(as you should be),there is good advice if you wade through the bullshit.

My advice:

  1. break up with him , you both are not getting sex here anyway so why keep the mask of a relationship.tell him you dont want to be in a committed relationship anymore and want to be single again but still want to be friends."its not you ,its me" is a trope for a reason.

  2. If you are concerned about him,Dont tell him you cheated YET. He is a beta loser who i'm assuming, you give a shit about .going this route has way too many chances of the guy damaging himself mentally.

  3. BE a friend to him.talk openly and encourage him to improve himself IF he wants to,plenty of people enjoy a life of sloth.

  4. introduce him to the PUA or if he's up for it the red pill.but dont push too much, its his choice if he wants to swallow.

Dont stop looking for other dudes in the meantime, the chances of him getting alpha again are low enough. If he does and still wants you and vice versa, great.Otherwise you both still get what you want out of life.

Loving relationships lower a man's T levels, but increase it for women

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Testosterone

Depression also raises cortisol which is antagonistic to testosterone

http://www.ehow.com/about_5162836_effects-cortisol-testosterone.html

I would guess that this is what has happened, I would say that to get the old him back he needs to raise that. So force him to discipline himself and get on the deadlifts, squats, oats, etc. Make him do manly shit, and he needs to stop smoking that damn pot.

[–]Stargazer342 points3 points4 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You are the scum of the earth, I hope you know that. Return the ring and break it off or work on your issues, marrying him WILL NOT fix anything, it will only magnify it. If you care at all, that is.

[–]jorgander2 points3 points4 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

While not exactly the same, your post reminded me of this comic.

Others have said it, but I'd like to repeat that you are not completely in the wrong since he has let himself go. Sure, you are wrong to fuck around, but it sounds like he does nothing to encourage you not to. Monogamy shouldn't be just having to fuck one person, but wanting to as well.

To be honest he is lucky to have you, in spite of your cheating. If I were him I'd be hurt by it, but then if I only sat around playing video games, getting fat, and not dealing with my depression, but my GF dressed sexy for me, sucked my dick all the time, and wanted to fuck me and fulfill my fantasies, I'd say it's not a bad deal.

No advice really, just wanted to touch on those points.
