Any tall girls/not stereotypically feminine girls here? Do you think it’s harder to date if you’re one/both of these things?

Not rude but whenever I turn up to the date the guy is ALWAYS shorter than his height he put on his profile. I’ve become an expert at spotting this bc I’m 5’11 (like scientifically 5’11) and guys will tell me they are 6’2. I’m cool whatever and then I turn up and he is a bit shorter than me and I’m in flats. This is becoming such an issue because I don’t honestly care about height that much but the red flags that come with the fact that a guy will blantantly lie about a characteristic I’m clearly going to see?? Additionally shorter guys will always make or bring up the fact that I’m taller. This reeks of insecurity and I just now don’t even bother talking to someone below ‘6’4’ because he’s probably 6’2 irl anyways ahaha

Yep. As a 6'2" woman, I've ended dates in less than 5 minutes as soon as I got negged about it. Being called an Amazon, giraffe, family size, or being told "we're all the same size laying down" is a hell no from me. I had my height listed right in my bio on dating apps to prevent guys from wasting my time. They still wasted my time. Because of my height I get the weight question as well. I got "a woman should never weigh more than her man" statement a lot. I weigh 180 lbs and I'm damn proud of it. I've worked my ass off in the gym to put on muscle. I start looking straight up emaciated at 160lbs. I have a large skeletal frame to go with my height. I'm not going to waste that work away for any scrote. I will take up as much damn space as I need.

My dating pool is significant smaller, but that's okay. It weeds out a lot of scrotes, but not all of them. In my pre FDS days, I was in a verbally abusive relationship and my height was always brought up as a fault of mine and something he didn't like. I wasn't allowed to wear heels, and he said I embarrass him in public even wearing flats because he's emasculated. That relationship ended quickly because he turned out to be a "nice guy". Again, in a world that tells us we have to take up less space, if not disappear entirely, I'm going to take up as much space as I need. All women have that right, and no one should tell us any different.

I'm married to a hvm now, he's 5'9" and gives zero fucks if I wear heels. It's funny how men complain about tall women not wanting them, they see one in the wild, then try to decimate her self esteem. I've been told once that he likes tall women but my height was just ridiculous. I told that guy that his height was "cute". Another guy called me family size (you know, like a bag of chips or a box of cereal), so I called him compact size.

I still get the odd comment about my height in public. The basketball question is usually a go-to. If it's coming from a guy, I say "no, why? Are you a jockey?". That usually makes scrotes mad. Take up space, sisters. Take up as much as you need.

I’m tall & have a buzz cut. I get asked if I’m a lesbian a lot.. as if a hairstyle can determine that 😒 and when I deny dudes they call me a “man”, 5 minutes after they called me hot, mind you!🙄

I’m 5’9+ and I only had this problem when I studied in North America. Especially because I always wear heals while clubbing. I don’t even remember what they said, but I knew their vibe was off and rude. Almost like me being there offended them.

I’m very feminine and proud of my height so I didn’t give a shit.

Where I live, I’m average. We’re a very tall country.

I’m short but not stereotypically feminine in most ways. I provide for myself and make good money; I have everything I need and more. Men do not like that, I’ve found. Rather, LVM don’t like that. Must be a sad sack of a man if you’re threatened by a woman who can take care of herself. Edit: I also do not wear makeup (I had horrible, painful acne as a teen, so of course I’m going to enjoy my life makeup-free, now! Plus I have very oily/“dewy” lol skin and it never stays on)

I'm about 6 feet and pretty much only feminine in my wardrobe.

I've NEVER been turned down due to my height. In my experience men for the most part don't care as much as long as you're HWP and attractive. The ones that do and want you to put away your heels can take one of em in his ass otw out

Remarks on my height from men range from obvious/dated ("How's the weather up there?") to flirty (tall glass of water) but nothing bad like I heard growing up. Anything negative about my height comes from women "I couldn't imagine being that tall!"

To answer your question, no. It's not harder to date. If your body is right and you wear whatever's flattering and feels comfortable, they'll still come flocking. Height on a woman is uncommon and striking. When you're not on top of that, they will want to be seen with you.

I’m 5’9” and have dated guys from 5’8” to 6’9” and the only ones that even mention my height are the ones under 6’. Like others have mentioned on this thread anytime a guy lists his height as 6’ I expect him to be my height in person.

The dumbest thing my ex kept saying was “you’re tall.” It’s dumb because he said it multiple times and I finally asked him if my height bothered him and he said no. I told him I thought it did bother him because he says that so much and told him to stop talking about it. As a side note water is wet, don’t need to keep saying it.

I'm not tall, but I'm not stereotypically feminine. I'm probably on the autism spectrum. Understanding things like fashion, makeup trends, how to do hair, and anything related to stereotypical femininity are really difficult for me. I don't get it. Too many rules to remember and they change so often.

I used to comply with femininity more in the past (makeup, long hair) but I don't anymore. No makeup. I have a grown-out buzz cut. I wear either t-shirts and jeans or activewear. Men still find me attractive. I still get hit on and harassed. I would say that more obvious LVM hit on me because they assume I have low self esteem or that I'll be "grateful" for the attention.

The rudest or dumbest thing a man has ever told me is that I wasn't the prettiest or most accomplished or talented girlfriend he'd ever had, but I was useful. I was still in my pickme years, so I didn't leave after that.

not me, but my best friend. she's about 6 feet tall, so basically our country's average for men. she's been having trouble finding men she liked that were taller than her. in fact, ever since she's been dating, she has had only one date with a guy who was handsome and taller than her.

not to mention short scrotes trying to neg her for it. it's disgusting. she's like the best human you'll ever meet, yet they've got this kind of audacity.

I’m not one, but one of my best friends is very career oriented, a little over six feet tall and she’s not traditionally girly (doesn’t do make up, wear dresses or any blouses. She looks nice but pretty much always wears like sweaters, tee shirts, jeans or slacks). It’s been a lot harder for her to date (from my own observations and from her flat out telling me this). There’s not all that many men taller than her. She keeps running into men who are happy to be shorter than her.... but they have major “mommy” issues. As in, they literally want a tall strong woman to take care of them. There’s nothing wrong with not being girly or being tall, but unfortunately I think it does make dating harder because those traits attract some men who are looking for coddling/ nurturing because in our society women who are small and feminine are the ones who “need” to be “nurtured.” Women who aren’t traditionally feminine are seen as strong, and this appeals to weak males who know they are not suited for a provider role.

Yup! I’m “tallish” for a woman in my area at 5’8”. Most men are my height or an inch or two taller, most other women are at least 4 inches shorter. I feel like an Amazon. I don’t know if it’s harder, I have to reject left and right still, but I prefer a man to be taller than me as the shorter ones seem to neg my height and/or get weirdly pissy if I wear heels.

I dress and act in ways that are stereotypically feminine, that said. Sundresses when it’s warm, cute leggings and booties when it’s not, tasteful makeup, hair always trimmed and color always fresh, eyebrows waxed and groomed, all that jazz. This is a recent change for me, as I used to be comfy clothes messy bun 24/7. I get wayyyyyy more attention while simultaneously noticing that I have way less interest in being picked, now that I’m only “comfy” when I’m running errands/lounging, height be damned.

I got rejected for being too tall once, I actually had a crush on a man my height and asked him out during my pickme days. He flat out told me he didn’t like that I was taller. :)
