The other day a male friend of mine asked me an easily googlable question. Normally, I would google it and tell him the answer. But I've gotten to the point where I was like, yknow, I don't know I'm sure you can look it up. Small, but progress.

I just started this video so I’ll add more thoughts later but I feel like it’s crazy how men think masculinity is being attacked in these times yet a huge part of masculinity is handling yourself and taking care of your lady/children/yourself without needing help from anybody including said lady/children. Yet I always hear about women having to, like she says, hold a man down and be a ride or die chick. So which is it?

I haven’t seen the video yet though. I just wanted to post my thoughts to the title “don’t help a man do anything” and judging by the first few seconds I’m guessing she knows what she’s talking about

This flabbergasted me and offended me. When something does that (and it isn't just straight-up pure garbage/bigotry), I resist, then peer at that emotion to understand why I feel that way.

This video makes a VERY good point, and I tend to want to control things in a relationship. I don't trust things will be done correctly if I don't do them myself. But I HATE when people are like this with me. So why do it?

Time to level up.

I was reading posts in the FIRE sub - and one guy mentioned that he was specifically looking for a serious girlfriend so that he could save money on the rent & achieve his FIRE goals.

That’s a goal digger to me.

And trust me, loads of guys think like this. They specifically say they ‘want a strong, independent woman who has a professional job’.

They basically want someone who is going pay their bills/rent- be a bangmaid/housekeeper/therapist/mother/etc- they want to ride ahead on the back of a woman.

Whilst they secretly save, indulge their own wants & zealously watch how much they spend a mere pittance on you- their so called ‘love’.

If you ask them why they don’t want to provide for their family, they say nowadays everything is expensive, & one person can’t be expected to provide.

Well this is my answer:

Instead of wasting your youth being lame lazy pathetic sloths- instead of playing manipulative games/pump& dump/watching porn/playing videogames- maybe you should have spent more time on building your future- studying/working so that money wouldn’t be an issue.

After all, you knew one day that you would have a family. So why didn’t you plan. No excuses.

Absolutely do not help men. He's an adult and he needs to prove himself by doing his own stuff. At best you'll end up being his mommy. At worst he'll start being rude to you, treating you poorly, possibly even started getting aggressive, and then cheat and leave.

Facts, my hs boyfriend definitely resented me and my success. It wasn’t until years after our break up did I realize that no matter how much I helped him and lifted him up, he would always be jealous of me and hate the fact that I helped him. At the end of the day, he was still a loser.
