She hasn't divorced him mainly because she knows with the weight she won't find another man anywhere near as good as her husband - if she could find a man at all. He must still have some assets she could raid in a divorce, but not that many (plus prenup making this more difficult apparently).

She must calculate it's better to still be married to Steve, even if he's a worthless drug dealer (in her mind), rather than be a fat unmarried alcoholic who probably couldn't even get a boyfriend. If she could get the weight off, she'd divorce him in a heartbeat.

But still, she's obviously got some serious mental problems, including alcoholism and overeating. But there are many things she could do to help deal with them. Instead she's just lounging around her parents home like a 48 year old teenager, eating and drinking herself into oblivion, probably putting most of the blame on her husband.
