Not saying self-improvement is wrong but this trend of equating TRP and self-improvement gimmicks such as cold showers, meditation or no-fap is slowly eroding the power of the knowledge that red pill awareness is the truth about human sexual strategies. Focus, people.

Hell yeah. I've gotten back into reading and listening to audiobooks while driving, and it's great. My advice would be to buy a Kindle. Most books on Amazon are available for free download elsewhere (or buy them on Amazon if you want), and you can instantly have a library of hundreds of books in your pocket.

When you think about it, the concept of reading is really amazing. It's like downloading new information right into your brain. So instead of having to figure a bunch of concepts out for yourself first hand, you can get the distilled information right from the source.

My goal for the next year is to read voraciously, and as much as possible.

Ive been a bibliophile since before I was in my teens. Im 48 now, and my personal library is over 3,000 volumes, most of which I have read at least a good part of. (Exempting dictionaries and the like.)

Despite all of the things I have acquired over my life, it remains without question my single most prized possession. I keep the mother lode of them in my library in my house. I'll tell you, theres something about lighting up the fireplace, pouring a scotch, and sitting down with a new tome amidst all of the others standing at attention all around me.

Going to the gym is important gents, but dont forget the most powerful organ in the body.

Reading is great, however it depends on what you read. Reading fiction can be just as big a waste of time as watching television, and I personally believe it's a big form of escapism. Reading philosophy, self-improvement books, social critiques, etc. are preferred IMO

If you have a long commute, audiobooks while driving will change your life. Mix business/investing books in with detective/sci-fi books to really engage your mind in hours that would otherwise be lost just listening to music.

The vast majority of books aren't worth the lost time to read them. Essentially just downloading a whole load of crap into your mind, just like TV, youtube, movies etc.

Having said that, there are a select few quintessential books (and other media) that shouldn't be left unread.

Yes, reading can be a good use of time, but it's easy to pedestalize it to justify inaction.

Speaking of redpill reading, I feel the need to shout out Jack Donovan here. Two of his books, "The Way of Men" and "Becoming a Barbarian" have been absolutely revolutionary for me. These are dangerous books, full of dangerous ideas. The former one, in particular, is an excellent primer in masculine virtue. I bet I've given half a dozen copies away. Read them, learn them, commit them to memory. Also recommended: "Meditations" by Marcus Aurelius and "Letters from a Stoic" by the one and only Seneca.

Good post. Another benefit is that being well read is a great weapon to have in gaming women. Women seem to read more often than men. Many times I've been stuck for conversation with a woman and have relied on "What are you reading at the moment?". They (the educated ones) are usually surprised that a man would ask them this, especially ones like myself who like typically masculine endeavours such as abusing sporting umpires, lifting heavy shit, fucking around with old cars and internet misogyny.

But I also love literature and poetry. So when I mock something a girl does by calling her Esther Greenwood or Elizabeth Bennet she either gets it and feels teased or doesn't and feels inferior. The point is that she feels. Be dichotomous gentlemen and keep the bitches guessing.

Great post. As an actor/filmmaker when I feel that Inam stuck, I read. Be it manga for its super compelling stories, a book on acting, filmmaking, or whatever.

I love listening to audiobooks too. When I started doing this my life really started to change.

This is tagged as "off topic," and there's a lot of bitching going on in the comments, but reading is absolutely imperative to the Red Pill. Ponder the origins of the term "red pill" from the Matrix. It was a pill the character took to correct his view of reality, to change his way of thinking. The Red Pill is knowledge. The Red Pill as we know it is a collage of theory, stories, history, anecdotes, bullshit, braggadocio, scholarship, and experimentation. It's a canon that's in the very earliest stages of compilation. It's a cultural phenomenon that occurred in reaction to false narratives.

There are a lot of guys here just looking to get laid, which is cool. You're here because there is a conflict between your desire and reality, and the resolution to that conflict is KNOWLEDGE. Wanting to get laid is just the front door. It's just the way in. Remember the origin myth: when offering the pill, Morpheus cautions, "you'll see how deep the rabbit hole goes." If, through the redpill, you become aware that dominant narratives about the sexual strategy are false, your next step will be to spot falsehoods in other cultural narratives. Anyone who has watched the manosphere for the last few years can see this. They all start blogs on game and pick-up techniques, which become cultural commentary, which later grade into political analysis and even low-level philosophy. It all runs together. The Red Pill is knowledge, nothing more, nothing less. It is a corrective alternative to false narratives. But you'll never get it unless you fucking read. Start with the sidebar.

I love reading. Problem is, however, like all interests, I tend towards the geekier side of it. I read fantasy, economics, politics, and philosophy.

It will enrich the mind, but I highly doubt I can talk to women about the Mistborn saga, Ludwig von Mises, and Ayn Rand.
