Isn’t “women this age are more attractive than women that age because they’re more fertile” kind of a dumb argument?

I find the extremely common argument that men like younger (18-25) women and not older (>25) women because they’re more “fertile” really senseless. I mean, it’s obviously based in logic; women DO lose fertility every month. That’s just a blatant fact.

But if it’s really the loss of fertility that innately disgusts men, shouldn’t we all be extremely attracted to 12 year olds? That is when the majority of women begin their periods (and are thus able to get pregnant). They have ALL of their eggs (and are thus at maximum fertility). If the fertility argument was truth, why aren’t any men (besides the very rare and very despised pedophile) attracted to who is MOST fertile?

Also, the average age of menopause (when all of the eggs are gone) is 52. Women who are in their late 20s and 30s are still quite fertile. Not as much as when they were in their early 20s but also not nearly as much as when they were pre-teens.
