Maybe I'm the minority here but I feel inclined to give props to this guy. Yes,he's crude as f but at the end of the day, he's showing some morals in wanting to tell a woman he likes her but not for the long term - and wants to tell her from the get go.

Believe me, nicer more politcally correct scrotes will just pay lip service and let you draw your own conclusions. Let your imagination carry you away and reap the benefits- I feel like this guy is being clear and transparent. He cites lifestyle (kids) and sexual interests/compatibility (I know, barf) but still.

It's not like he's asking "fellow scrotes, how do I dodge the question of WHAT ARE WE while I take advantage of her in the short term?" or "how can I convinceher to accept my terms that are less than what she wants?"

This chick is getting a blessing we only wish could be guaranteed to the rest of us: being told in our face EXACTLY what the terms are and given the chance to either sign up for it or not.

Would we rather this guy play nice and say all the right things, and six months later drop her under the pretext that she's too needy, too jealous, too this, too that? When it's actuall her kid and actually that they've never been sexually compatible all along?

Also, I want to be fair to the commenters shown there: none are telling him "who cares, don't tell her anything", they're giving him their answers.

It would serve us well to accept that this is legitimate, and some women may be down. What's not legitimate is manipulation and deceit but I don't see the big moral issue if he's trying to be honest - both to himself and to her.

We shouldn't make this a moral issue. Transparency is the moral issue here, not the seriousness of the guy with the chick in question. The transactional terms bewteen a woman that may be a pickme, have low self esteem or any other stake in this, are a risk-reward analysis for both parties involved. But the morality here, imho, is the clarity of the terms so each one can make informed decisions.

We can shame men for being dishonest, which is inmoral. But are we going to shame them for being honest? Or are we trying to shame because they're willing to get involved with women they're not serious about?

Is our expectation truly that they only get involved with women they're serious about? See what I mean?

Now... imagine if you could know this BEFORE you even get involved with him.

I have done hours and hours and hours of deep dives scrutinizing probably 50+Reddit and quora threads back when I kept hearing "I'm not looking for anything serious" and after my literal hours of research what I discovered was that guys genuinely think it's okay to use you so long as they tell you they're not looking for anything serious which is a statement that literally makes no sense to a woman especially if she is naive. at first I thought okay cool yeah I like to take things slow to we can hang out and we can get to know each other. to a man not looking for anything serious means he straight-up doesn't want you to talk to him unless you're going to have sex that day and even then.

It's a harsh thing to learn in your early 20s.

and what I also learned through my sleuthing which is even more important as it is related to this post- the reason why men "aren't looking for anything serious" besides just not being that into you, like maybe they genuinely believe they are not looking for anything serious, through my hours of coring through many many Reddit threads I have discovered that straight up they are just lonely. They are lonely selfish and bored and want a distraction.

Not to mention, if you were to ever entertain one of these guys they think that saying they're not looking for anything serious means if you have any kind of emotions or affection whatsoever it's going to disgust them and you are going to feel like you are trapped in a box unable to be your true self. and the sad thing is it's not a matter of hiding your emotions, it's a matter of he just doesn't give a fuck about you and he wants just to have sex with you.

If I ever hear this coming out of a guys mouth I don't even ask questions anymore I just go straight to block.

Men know from the beginning what the deal breakers are with you and will tolerate that until they can't anymore/they get tired of the sex/they meet someone who meets their standards/they get tired of waiting for sex if you're not putting out. It's better to get those out in the open so each adult can decide for themselves what they want.
