I don’t hate them; I’m tolerant of well trained dogs but a majority of American society doesn’t bother to train their dogs well, which leads to the neurotic messes I’m usually exposed to (like the endless barking dogs that don’t let me sleep, the ones that have charged me for no reason, the ones that stare at you while you’re trying to just eat, the ones that claw you while trying to get all up in your shit when you have a nice dress on...etc.)

Yes there’s plenty who have actually tried, but I don’t engage. If they can’t respect that I don’t prefer dogs then I don’t need to waste my energy.

Most of those “dog dad” dudes display a strange obsession with the dog(usually a female dog), to the point where you will inevitably have to compete with it for affection. For example, my friend had to deal with a boyfriend like this, and the breaking point was on a weekend that she came to spend with him since his parents were out of town. The dog (female) wouldn’t stop growling at her because they were cuddling, so he had my friend sit on a different couch away from him, because the dog was “jealous”, and invited the dog to sit with him instead. This behavior continued throughout the entire weekend.

I just prefer the quiet and peaceful life of cat ownership.
