I met Ron Jeremy in college. He was a guest speaker to our Debate Meet. We debated the topic of legalizing sex work. This was back in 2008 iirc. He was very touchy feely-flirty with all of the girls. He touched my arm during a photo and I gave him the death glare, I should post it somewhere. I stayed the hell away from him after the debate was over. He also smelled like vodka and brut.

My friend lives in LA and met Ron Jeremy at a bar there. When I was 18 I went to a debate he did with a pastor who runs a charity to help women out of the porn industry. I remember thinking Ron Jeremy was a decent guy because he donated his earnings from this debate tour to the pastor’s organization.

Honestly I was more surprised then thinking that he was a “good guy,” and not very surprised at this revelation. Porn actors in general consist of women who’ve been so fucked up by predatory men harassing them (or worse) from a young age that they think making money off of it is some kind of liberation, as opposed the actual liberation of men never treating them like that in the first place. As for the straight men who do porn... think about the kind of dude that feels like such a “stud” that he should make a career out of sleeping with women. He feels entitled to women’s bodies. They aren’t socialized like we are—this isn’t a survival move or a resigned and jaded way to make money. Male porn actors are fucked up, all of them.
