Hi ladies,

As some may know, I am new here and still getting to know what RPW is all about. I wanted some advice on the following:

  1. My husband and I both work full-time and earn the same salary. I handle the typical female stuff on a day to day basis (laundry, getting kids ready in morning and drop offs and making my husband his coffee (and a full breakfast if time allows), doing the kids' nighttime routine, cooking dinner most nights unless we eat out, etc.). My husband has much more downtime than I do. I know that this pleases him so he can zone out on his iPad, but it is exhausting for me. How do other full-time working (yet traditional at home) women keep the resentment from creeping in? Especially when family and friends make jabs that I am being a pushover wife?
  2. My husband does fix things around the house, but the yard is a major problem and he won't maintain it (pull weeds, mow lawn, etc.) unless we have guests over for a birthday (really only once a year). This is a big issue for me because A.) I don't have extra time to do it given my issues explained in item #1 and B.) Given the amount of downtime my husband has, couple with the fact that yard work is often times seen as a male chore (at least it was that way in my family), how do I encourage him to do it without nagging? He refuses to hire a gardener.
