I wanted to write a post about my neighbor, whom we'll call Ms. Georgia. She totally embodies FDS' philosophy. I've honestly asked myself a couple of times, 'Was I sent here just to shadow this queen?'

Ms. Georgia is 69 yo and has lived in my apartment complex for 12 years. There are 100+ units here. When I say Ms. Georgia knows everyone, I really mean it. I feel like random neighbors are always chatting with her outside.

She grows a vegetable garden and regularly leaves fresh produce in bags on people's doorsteps. She bought bikes for some of the neighborhood kids and keeps them in a separate storage unit she pays for. Sometimes she'll text me, "Do you like x dish? Well I just made some, bring some tupperware so you can eat while you WFH." She's constantly going to lunch with her lady friends. She's always dressed up. Once she found out my family was in town, made us a gorgeous cake and dropped it off so we could indulge. I could go on.

Earlier today, while I was WFH, I heard someone singing, "Happy birthday Ms. Georgia!" So I called her and asked, "Today is your birthday?" and she told me to roll through a small gathering of people having a wine toast at her apartment. One of them was a man we'll call Tom.

I had to leave early to return to work, and she walked me to the door. Ms. Georgia then stuck out her hand to show me a big diamond-encrusted sapphire ring on her pointer finger. I gasped! She winked, name-dropped "Tom" with a whisper, then closed the door.

She is such an icon to me. Flirty, thriving, generous, and happy well into her 60s.
