I am not at all an expert in red pill or any particular gender or relationship theory, so I may get some of this wrong, but hear me out.

First, I say "supposedly" because I don't personally believe all men care for or are interested in young women (18-22 year old) especially as they get older and find the differences in life experiences and/or mental maturity too much. I also don't believe women are inherently hypergamous by nature (at least to the extent they will always choose to go with the higher SMV male every chance they get). But this is besides the point as for the purpose of this post, I'll be arguing from the perspective of many of the statements and assertions I've seen continuously made online.

So, I've seen a lot of men on here and the red pill make the claim that most, if not all, men would live like Leo (as in trading out a hot woman every few year for a "newer, younger model") if they actually had the means/SMV to. At the same time, I hear many of these same men continuously say that one of the reasons women essentially suck and can't be trusted is that they're hypergamous by nature and will trade you in for someone better (maybe someone who has more money or is hotter) the moment they have an opportunity to do so. But if these same men would continuously date hot women in their primes (highest SMV) if they simply had the ability to so, like they say they would, then they are no different than the women who also take advantage of their ability to keep trading in partners for ones with a higher SMV.

The similarity between these two situations is that a significant other is being replaced by by their partner with someone who possesses a higher "SMV" than their former s/o. Some people will simply take advantage of the opportunity to trade "up" if they can. My question is, how can someone be mad at one of these situations and not the other? Doesn't this just make you a hypocrite? If the understanding is that men would continuously filter out older women for younger women with a higher SMV, and women would keep trading lower value men for higher value ones, aren't they essentially doing the same thing? (This also applies to women who get mad at older men trading out their girlfriends/wives for younger women, but don't see women leaving a loving partner for someone simply more successful as a problem too.)
