I would take it further, it's not enough to have aspirations, you have to follow through on actively working to achieve those aspirations (which, in fairness, you were hinting at when you said "guys who have something going on in their lives").

Just a guess, but I'd imagine this aspiration/success dynamic signals to a woman that if life gets serious, he has the ability to step in and fix what is going on (given his ability to have success in other areas of his life), which might be extremely critical when she is put in vulnerable situations (which as a female, she inevitably will be). Aspirations/successes also boost status, which is another innate draw for almost all women.

It's strange to me when I see guys blackpill themselves over this. Yes, you are man. You are not a woman. In the dating world, all women have to do is be. Men have to become. Is it equal? No. But bearing a child for 9 months and nursing it for the next several years isn't equal either. Men and women are different, and if you're a man, the thought of becoming should excite you. It should power and drive you. It should be almost intoxicating. It definitely shouldn't blackpill you.

After all... if you believe that men and women are equal then it stands to reason that if you (a man) are able to be attracted to a woman with no aspirations and nothing going on in her life, a woman would be able to be attracted to a man with no aspiration and nothing going on in his life.

Now if we give up the idea that men and women are equal then sure. It is reasonable to expect that women wouldn't be attracted to men that have no aspirations nor anything going on with their lives.

I'd actually say aspirations and passions are orthogonal to dating, or maybe just tangentially related. They impact who you date, but aren't attractive on their own necessarily.

The stuff that is attractive would be appearance/styling, charisma and other stuff in that vein. However, someone's passions and aspirations will likely correlate with certain appearances types of styling (e.g. someone passionate about fashion will specifically present a certain way), and also may inform the way they socialize and their social circles, which is where you get the differentiation in who people date.

What the fuck do you want? I am a lawyer. I do not have time for fancy "inspirational" hobbies. I want to be well read, I want to see good movies, being cultured in just literature and cinema takes up almost all of the free time I have. And then I work out and have other responsibilities. Sometimes I edit/make videos, but if I were to take that seriously, I'd have literally no time for any woman -- my wife would complain about no attention given to her.

And there are many men like me who fucking work. Life is not about being interesting. It's about being useful first and foremost for most of us, stop daydreaming about perfect anything, you don't even deserve it.

I remember in the early 90's likeing d&d, video games, martial arts and anime. To most people, none of this was aspirational or worthy. Which was fine. I enjoyed my life, my friends and hobbies.

But women were not interested, and that is fine. But it had nothing to do with a bad personality, no life or goals. IS it these guys dont hae depth, dreams or goals.

OR they dont have depth, dreams and goals they respect/like/socially acceptable/cool.
