There are tons of women who are financially independent and want to contribute equally. Just find one of those. On the other hand, if you want her to raise your kids and be a housewife, you have to be prepared to support your family financially.

I have been a woman for a few decades now, and I don’t care about money.

On our first date my husband and I agreed that we didn’t want kids and we wanted to be happy more than we wanted capitalist-defined “success.” 22 years later we have jobs we can emotionally handle that pay enough to live on while giving us free time, some cats we love, and a very happy little life together.

Everyone is an individual. There is nothing that applies to “all women.” I can tell you that we never got some universal personality installed into us at a young age, and we are humans just like you with our own beliefs and preferences and expectations shaped by our own personal experiences and cultural surroundings and neural wiring.

Others have said it better. Once you let go of the idea that women are dogs that have been bred with a mysterious personality, and that by becoming some sort of Uber Man you can crack their code and get rewarded with hot babes like you hit a slot machine jackpot, life will get a lot easier for you.

There are billions of women. There are smart women, dumb women, conservative women, religious women, crazy women, ambitious women, lazy women. Some care about money. Some don't. Some make six figures. Others are broke. Some are the breadwinners in their family. Some marry for money. Some don't. Some, like myself, are uncomfortable being financially dependent on a man. My parents have always paid for anything I needed, so I never thought to have any man finance anything in my life. I’m only comfortable depending on my parents or myself. I’ve never expected anything materialistic from a boyfriend, like dates or flowers. I’ve found that this thinking has attracted a certain kind of man that often ends up using me for money.
Growing up comfortable financially, money never was never able to impress me, but personality, ambition, and wit does. Going for a woman that can be bought is the lazy man’s game

Money is important. It is to women, and guess what? It is to men, because the majority are not in a position to economically support a woman & a family independently.

This is so archaic and holding on to the shit your GRANDAD was able to do. Even if you’re making six figures, it’s not enough to sustain a woman & a family.

In fact, I will argue that most women are working, bringing home income AND living up to some of the same gender-specific expectations as our grandmas. If anything; it’s men who are blatantly benefiting from women’s work & income, not the other way around.

Same as anybody else in society. Some are gold diggers, some don't care about money whatsoever. People usually date within their socioeconomic class anyway.

More and more women are college educated and are the breadwinners in the family. That doesn't fit with the stereotypical gold digging mooch that redpillers like to portay women as.

Having good financial skills and knowledge is great but you don't have to make six figures or more to do that.

I met my husband in university, and we were both students. If he had come from a loaded family, and had that type of personality that went along with it, we wouldn’t be together. I grew up with friends and family like that - it’s not attractive.

He was the first of his family to go to university, blue collar parents, etc.

But he worked hard and was ethical, even at 19. He matched me and we complemented each other. Money was by far not a deciding factor between us, but kindness, family, goals, travel, personality, and understanding were. We were married at 22, and I’m 37 now. We’re independent from our families’ finances, although I acknowledge their influence put us where we are currently (decisions, education, upbringing network, etc).

Some people are looking for money - men and women. Those people are what we call shallow, entitled, shortsighted, and superficial. I’ve never seen a relationship work long-term based on money. Not my grandparents, not my friends and other family, something always snaps and the outcome is just awful.

Old money tends to stay with money and knows many of the rules. People who marry into that are often blindsided. New money is erratic and unless the people are extremely down to earth/grounded, those relationships don’t work out.

So what are you looking for in a relationship? Is it to attract people who are attracted to money? Because I know a lot of people who don’t say their last names/incomes when they date because they’re worried about the wrong kind of relationship and it doesn’t stop them.

So to sum up - some people find money/power/influence attractive. Others find ambition, or kindness, or perseverance, intelligence, ethics, openness, confidence, mysterious, a strong chin, a gap between their teeth, a laugh, mutual likes/dislikes, etc attractive.

But relationships formed from all uneven balance of power (money, age, etc) have a hard time working out.

If you’re looking for something quick and dirty, sure! A yacht would work, as would dropping thousands on a shopping trip ... but do you want that? It’s kind of icky.

My understanding is that women prefer men who are humble with their money instead of flashy. If a man lives a simple life and the woman “finds out” that he is wealthy/financially responsible then it will never be a negative mark against him.

Dating has also been easier ever since I bought a Supra. I never make it know how much I travel and what car I drive but when my date eventually figures it out the dynamic changes to where they’re pursuing and constantly texting me.

Let’s just say money doesn’t hurt, especially with very attractive women.

What is the truth about women and money? The same as the truth about men and looks. Every post generalizing all women to be gold-diggers is as reductionist as a post generalizing all men to be shallow. A lot of girls fall for guys who have no financial prospects, just like a lot of guys fall for girls they have chemistry with, instead of a girl who 'would be impressive to their friends'. Both stereotypes are also the result of social conditioning IMO - - just like men are conditioned to believe they'd have increased status in their peer circle if they had some 'arm candy', women are also often socially conditioned to think that dating a guy with status and power makes them 'win' in some intangible way.

You mention that the mindset of women being gold diggers is engrained into society. It's worth mentioning that this mindset is largely engrained in misogynistic culture. Happy, healthy, well-adjusted people don't go around with blanket paranoid assumptions like that.

TRP exaggerates it. As long as you make enough to support yourself and help support a kid or two you shouldn't have any issues being attractive to women. It's less about being a golddigger for most women, more related to you doing your fair share.

Personally I'm more career focused, so I'd prefer it if my SO stayed home with our future kids, but society isn't that progressive yet where thats the norm.

You better be offering something real good if youre broke. Are you a good companion? Do you support her emotionally? Do you support her interests? Would you actually be a good and dependable coparent? If not, all you would have to offer is money, that's why many men try to sell themselves that way, as financially well off. That's their selling point.

The trurh is not women only care about money. The truth is all many men have to offer is money. We're not going with a bad companion, who doesn't support us emotionally and shits on our interests, who is a bad and undependable coparent if they can't even bring good finances to the table.

Having sturdy finances is something every adult should work for, for their own benefit.

Nature makes men want to judge a woman based on how she looks. It’s ingrained in a man to do so. Nature makes women want to choose a man with resources. Does that necessarily mean a gold digger? No. She wants someone that can be relied on to support a family. Wants someone who isn’t sleeping on her couch and mooching her food.

I would say it makes a big difference if a woman wants kids or not.

A woman who knows she wants to be a mother is going to care a lot about her man's ability to bring home money since she'll probably choose to work less or not at all in order to raise the kids.

As for women who don't want kids, they either take full advantage of the tradition for the man to be the main provider, or they want to contribute equally.

It's not EVERYTHING, but it does matter, women like security, financial security is part of that, and if you're messing with the career women, which I would recommend against , they're generally going to want a man that makes at LEAST the same as them, generally speaking
