So basically I was raised by a huge pickme and an extremely LVM. I realise now everyone I chose in my life; friends, boyfriends everyone I was recreating my relationship with my parents (which was basically me being as good as I can and them using me, not caring about me at all beyond what they can use me for). It is incredibly painful to realise your whole life is fucked up because you willingly chose people who treated you like dirt. And it's so obvious now how bad it was and I thought this was NORMAL. Like I thought it was normal to never know where you stand with a person, to never be shown any appreciation or loyalty, to be as good and kind as I possibly can and just take what I get, never asking if I deserve better. It really hurts. Like I'm crying from a mix of sadness and anger as I write this. At 32 it feels like I am learning these things way too late, i know I have a lot of life left to live but I feel like I'm learning this stuff late in the day and I just feel so broken I don't exactly feel like I can just jump straight into dating. My self esteem is low and I literally made myself unwell by repressing all my emotions and taking so much abuse. I feel exhausted CONSTANTLY. I get muscle pain and headaches. I've been to the doctor there is nothing physically wrong with me and I know this is basically years of repressed sadness and anger but it doesn't make it any easier to deal with. I feel angriest at myself and I feel even angrier at myself that I can't just snap out of this and start building my life. I wish I felt well enough to do a ton of exercise but I literally feel exhausted all the time and sort of in a daze all the time. I just feel so ashamed and so much greif that I didn't realise this years ago. I have let so many people treat me like dirt and I thought I deserved it.
