Buy yourself an olympic barbell and 200-400 lbs of weight. You can snag it all for like $200 used, add in 50-100 for a bench, add in 200 for a good power rack.

$500-750 down, and it's a home gym. Saves massive time with going to the gym, about the same price as 1-2 years of gym membership, and lasts you forever. Additionally, you will use it, no excuse. Naked, tired, it's winter time... you aren't going to go to the gym, but you will go do some deadlifts in the privacy of your own home. One of the best investments I ever made.

Another benefit is any girl who tries to live with you is going to have a major bitchfest about 8 square feet of shit in the prime area of your home. It is amazingly funny to see how creative even a casual FB will get at trying to get you to move your practically placed eyesore somewhere else

A double-edge razor - refillable blades are about 50c ea as opposed to $4-5ea for a gillette mach 3. They're also better than a straight-edge because you never have to sharpen them.

If you want to indulge, get a badger brush and a tub of shave cream as well, they'll make shaving a pleasure.

For those of you planing to buy a pc, build it yourself it saves you quite a lot of money , even for office PCs , get a AMD APU that you can afford maybe a 20$ aftermarket cpu cooler so your rig is going to be silent , add a SSD you can afford (dont get less than 30GB tho) and you got yourself a snappy office machine that can handle multimedia and light gaming.

Shit, I am realizing I am a bit of a minimalist without even knowing... I don't really own anything too unusual. The AeroPress coffee maker was cool but later on we bought a real espresso maker. I never leave home without a Swiss Army Knife but to be honest it basically never gets used. I keep a bit of snowstorm survival kit in the car, collapsible shovel, blanket, water, chocolate TP because we had one bad experience. I don't give a shit about my office clothes, just random cheap button down shirts and suits, I don't care about my office appearance, as nobody does where I work, we all see this button-down shit as just work uniforms, my after work clothes are generally nice designer stuff. I like the Esprit brand, cheap but looks OK. So nothing really unusual.

Maybe the only somewhat unusual thing in my life is that I discovered that in order not to hate winters, the trick is that just putting on a heavier jacket is not enough. I have a winter version of everything: shoes, socks, pants, lighter and heavier gloves, lighter cap (beret type), heavier cap...

A wallet multi-tool. Or credit card multi-tool. They run anywhere from $5-$50 depending on how expensive you want to go, and include things like tweezers, bottle opener, wrench function, ect. They fit in a card slot of your wallet. Mine also has a two-inch knife. They're useful in the most random situations, and are easy to always carry with you.

Also, Bag Balm. My dad grew up on a farm and then went into the military, and he has an obsession with this stuff he passed on to me. It's lanolin, petroleum jelly, and some antibacterial stuff. Neosporin+. It's dead cheap, and works for everything from razor burn to sun burn to poison ivy.

A few pieces that fit me stupendous such as a couple blazers I have.

My "Opinel" carbon-steel pocket knife. Blade shape makes it a natural dead razor if you keep it properly, wood handle makes it light, lock makes it safe, and traditional feel that I like.

Cheap at 8-10€. Carbon blade gets that sort of blackish look, except for that perfect silvery slice at the edge that I keep up to a real good edge.

The idea is that you soak both sides of it in water for 30 mins which it will soak up because clay is porous. Then you can just throw large chunks of meat with or without vegs in it, without adding fat, because the steam coming out from the pores and the fat melting out from the animal is enough. A whole chicken is 2 to 3 hours on 160C / 320F. A duck is 3 hours but put in an apple to take away the smell. Pork, beef, lamb leg anything works. And once you figure out the baking time no oversight needed.

If you live in city I strongly suggest a scooter, mine costed circa 2k$ and I ran this year 2000+km on it only around town. It saved me a lot of time getting to places and also gas money. I got 125ccm and it can go as fast as 100km/h so ideal for city and short trips. But Iam planning on buying some streefighter, because ... scooter ... you know what I mean :)

Wolverine 1000 Mile Addisons in Tan - ~$300

For the past 5 winters in Tokyo, I just toughed it out with a pair of chucks and wool socks. Not this year, my friends. Now my feet will be stylishly cozy. Dress code at the job is business casual, so I can wear them pretty much all week if I want to. They should last a long, long time if I take care of them properly as well.

I'm also considering picking up a nice Global chef's knife(~$80), considering that I'm cooking at least twice a day everyday.
