we don't let 13 year olds get tattoos. we don't let them enlist in the military. we don't let them get jobs. we don't let them smoke or consume alcohol. we don't let them buy real estate. we don't let them get married. we don't let them consent to sex. we don't let them rent cars. we don't let them drive cars. why in the world would that be an appropriate age to let them mutilate their genitalia?
it's the single worst thing anybody's ever done to me. i was born completely defenseless and my parents had a responsibility to protect me from anybody that wanted to hurt me. instead, they took advantage of my helplessness to customize my body the way they prefer it.
Some of us deal with chronic pain directly from the procedure. I was angry decades before any movement existed. Nothing went wrong with mine according to doctors, but nerve damage is a very real thing.
Imagine someone cutting off your lips and then saying you can kiss the same, and that protesting it is dangerous, or men aren't harmed.
A 2007 study confirmed a 70-80% loss of sensation, all of it fine touch and temperature, during circumcision. The resulting glans keratinization worsens the result. You can be fine with it for yourself, but you are clearly ignorant of the position.
There is no harmless circumcision. Healthy tissue is needlessly removed, without anesthesia. Studies exist, showing permanent brain changes, signs of PTSD, and profound nerve damage. Loss of 80% sensation is significant.
Any time a pro is mentioned, it's usually a generalized claim of hygiene (yet women have more folds and don't have this happen). HIV study was severely flawed, and the claimed percentage decrease was relative, not absolute. 0.1 vs 0.05% chance is a 50% decrease, but both are still low. This is how the HIV study claimed a significant reduction.
The american cancer society has routinely condemned the cancer decrease claim. Circumcision gives something like a 0.001% decrease in the chance of getting cancer. Yet American men have higher rates than normal, intact men in other countries. It's already a rare cancer, and we'd save more lives by addressing prostate cancer, which is nearly on par with breast cancer.
Also, let's not forget the boys who die each year due to being cut (blood loss, infection, shock during the procedure).
There are zero benefits. Circumcision seeks to invent a problem in order to offer a solution.
Did you have a periah style performed? I have questions as to how people reconcile the documented differences in circumcision from Abrahamic style and the periah, where significantly more flesh is removed. Likewise, to my understanding, laws exist to allow a ritual nick, either if the man was cut, or if the infant had an older brother who died of circumcision itself or complications. Clearly, this was known to be harmful, potentially deadly. If cutting is only possible, why is a nick accepted? This isn't to argue. I'm genuinely curious as I've never received an answer.

you really think you would have gotten part of your penis removed when you were older? are there any other parts of your body that you've thought about removing?
Why would I research exactly what they were going to do to my dick before they did it? Umm because it’s my dick. If you lose a finger or a toe you have more so it’s not a huge deal. You only have one dick, it’s best you take care of it. Why are you so against it? Do you know what an unwashed dick under the foreskin looks and smells like?!
that's not what i asked. i asked if you've ever researched finger removal or toe removal. if you haven't researched finger removal or toe removal, why would you research foreskin removal? my point is i don't think you'd put in the effort. you'd see it as a normal part of yourself.
an unwashed partial penis doesn't look or smell any better than an unwashed whole one.
