Islamophobia isn't a thing, stop that. In addition, I've seen too many times that if there is something that that the jewish faith practices, and people disagree with it, thats called antisemitism. The practise leads to disease, death and a host of potential other problems. Wanting to be 'as god made you' seems like it would be a good thing.

Sadly it's pretty much a given that orthodox jews will slander the intactivist movement, they can't do much else to try to protect their outdated religious practices. Of course they say respecting boys bodily autonomy is fascism. How they mix misogyny into this picture is a mystery though.

You do not get to practice your religion on other people unless they consent to it. A minor can't consent to it. Your religious rights end at the tip of your son's penis. If your religion requires you to violate someone else's rights, it should either be adapted to the modern world, or expelled from it. We no longer tolerate people tieing cinderblocks to a neighbor's feet and tossing them in a lake to make sure they are not witches, so why do we tolerated torturing a newborn because they are male? It's bullshit.

This is such a stupid argument. In America, circumcision exists due to mistaken Victorian beliefs about cleanliness and masturbation. It has no purpose other than aesthetic (which is patently ridiculous) and cultural inertia. Is is beyond pointless.

Within the Jewish community, it is a long held and sacred practice tied to a specific tradition, which is a little bit different. Not saying it's any less barbaric, but that's a decision for them to decide. It obviously means much more to them than the average American who circumcises because it's what their parents did.

Which is to say, Jewish organizations should really refrain from inserting themselves into the debate that in truth doesn't concern them until someone comes threatening their autonomy to make religiously motivated choices, which absolutely no one in America has any intention of doing.

Edit: wow, you guys are doing a really great job of listening to what I'm saying and responding rationally. If I didn't know better, I would think I was arguing with a bunch of feminists.
