I've been lurking in this community for a bit, and I know appearance is important, but I realized that the way I dress has drawn weirdos to me.

Now I'm a little bit toned down in how I dress, but my style leans more towards the Victorian style and occassionally with punk influences. I'm thinking that the victorian-esque element shouldn't be too much of an issue, but I'm thinking I may need to phase out the punk style. Do Doc martens, leather and fishnets have too much of a masculizing effect to be pulled off as a RPW? I also have a black horshoe lip piecrcing and an eyebrow piercing. That's not a lot but I've been browsing this community and the RP and it seems that facial piercings are painted in a negative light.

I'm open to dressing in other, vintage-inspired stuff, but I've never been too much of a girly person, but I'm a little worried that I'll look too silly in an overly feminine look. I also don't wear the dark makeup or any kind of make up (but that's changing soon). For whatever reason, I seem to also attract the attention of the hip hop lifestylers (sagging, oversized clothes, ball caps and sneakers) which my studies me since most of those men are typically low SMV to me. But it got me wondering if whether or not my style and dark clothes are driving off good men.

I'm only 22 so I'm not sure if I'll outgrow the style, but I've never gotten into it for the wrong reasons. I genuinely love long lace dresses and tops and the victorian-looking stuff. I'll admit I don't really know how to do my eyebrows or makeup and I've not really taken care of that aspect of my appeareance.

Thanks!
